Senior Helpers of East San Deigo Featured on CBS 8 News for “Santa's Senior Helpers”
Senior Helpers was recently featured in a local news story highlighting our “Santa's Senior Helpers” initiative, a special holiday effort focused on bringing companionship, joy, and connection to seniors who may be feeling lonely during the season.
The story centers on Barbara Bruce, a 72-year-old National City resident, who was surprised by our team with gifts, a Christmas tree, and meaningful time together. What began as a simple visit quickly became a powerful reminder of how small gestures of kindness can make a lasting impact—especially during the holidays.
The segment also underscores a growing issue facing older adults, with nearly one in three seniors reporting feelings of loneliness, and highlights why our caregivers go beyond providing non-medical care to offer emotional support and genuine human connection.
We’re honored to have this moment shared and to shine a light on the compassion our caregivers bring to their work every day.
