VA Benefit Assistance

Senior Helpers of Scottsdale is helping senior Veterans to understand how they can utilize the various benefits through the Veteran’s Administration to help them access care that will allow them to live at home for as long as they wish.  There are at least two distinct benefits offered to Veterans who find themselves needing care assistance to continue living independently.  These benefits are the Aid & Attendance Pension benefit and the Homemaker and Home Health Aid benefit that is administered through each VA Hospital location.  Please read further to learn how these benefits work.

Learn How Senior Helpers in Scottsdale is Helping Veterans

Senior Helpers owner Tiffany Phelan recently appeared on KTVK to discuss the services that we can offer to Veterans to help them remain safe at home.

VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program

The Homemaker and Home Health Aide Program through the VA may be right for you.  Through this program, Senior Helpers is contracted with the VA to provide homemaker and home health aide services based on hours that are approved by the VA’s Home and Community Based Services department.  Many of our Veterans receive 2-7 visits per week at no or low cost to them, based on criteria set forth by the VA.  Senior Helpers can assist you in navigating the VA system to help you request assistance through this program.

VA Aid and Attendance Program

There are currently millions of veterans who qualify for the VA Aid & Attendance benefit, but they do not know it or are uncertain how to access it. Veterans who served a minimum of 90 days of active duty, including one day of active duty during a period of war such as World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War, all may qualify for this benefit.

As experts in the senior care industry, Senior Helpers® understands the needs of our Veterans. We work seamlessly with the professional assistance organizations to make sure that veterans and their spouses receive the benefits they deserve as quickly as possible. While the assistance organization helps you start your application, Senior Helpers will begin to provide the in-home quality senior care you deserve.

Senior Helpers in-home senior care helps our Veterans to get around and enjoy their senior years safely and healthfully. Personalized daily plans are developed and customized to your unique needs and designed to preserve your independence and freedom, while allowing you to remain in the comfort of your home.
