Senior Helpers of Tempe Raises Over $5,600 for Alzheimer's Association at Inaugural Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween

What happens when you bring together adorable dogs in Halloween costumes, local businesses, families, and a community that loves giving back? Something pretty special!

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, Senior Helpers of Tempe hosted our inaugural Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween fundraiser at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona. What started as an idea to bring our community together for a meaningful cause turned into a wonderful morning of fun, generosity, and connection.

And we're incredibly excited to share that, thanks to our amazing community, we raised $5,625.20 for the Alzheimer's Association!

A Morning of Halloween Fun for a Great Cause

From the moment families and their four-legged friends began arriving, Kiwanis Park was filled with Halloween spirit.

Our dog costume contest was definitely a highlight! We had some incredibly creative costumes, with three lucky winners each taking home a $200 cash prize.

Families also enjoyed a community Trick-or-Treat Trail, children's activities, food vendors, and exciting raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses.

But beyond the costumes and activities, what made the morning so special was seeing everyone come together to support a cause that affects so many families.

Even after having to reschedule our original event date due to weather concerns, our sponsors, community partners, vendors, and attendees showed up and helped make our first fundraiser a success.

Our Community Made It Possible

One of the most rewarding parts of organizing Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween was seeing the generosity of our local business community.

Businesses throughout Tempe and the surrounding East Valley contributed through sponsorships, in-kind donations, raffle prize donations, and volunteer support.

Some donated prizes, others contributed their services or time, and many helped spread the word about the event.

Every contribution, big or small, helped us reach our fundraising goal and create an event that families could enjoy together.

To every sponsor, vendor, volunteer, donor, and family who participated: THANK YOU! We truly couldn't have done it without you.

Why Supporting the Alzheimer's Association Matters to Us

As a local, veteran-owned home care company, supporting families affected by Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia is especially meaningful to us.

At Senior Helpers of Tempe, we understand that caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's can bring challenges that affect the entire family.

From changes in memory and daily routines to the emotional and physical demands of caregiving, families often find themselves navigating situations they never anticipated.

That's why we believe supporting organizations like the Alzheimer's Association is so important.

Their work helps provide education, resources, support, and hope to individuals and families affected by this disease.

Through our in-home senior care services, including specialized Alzheimer's and dementia care, we're also committed to helping older adults remain safe, comfortable, and supported at home while giving their families some much-needed peace of mind.

For us, giving back to the community is an extension of the work we do every day.

We're Making Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween an Annual Tradition!

After such an encouraging first year, we're excited to announce that Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween will become an annual community event!

Our hope is to continue bringing together families, local businesses, and dog lovers from Tempe, Ahwatukee, South Phoenix, Laveen, and surrounding communities for a fun morning that also makes a difference.

We would love to see even more businesses, volunteers, and families participate next year!

Whether you attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, or simply helped spread the word, please know how much your support means to us.

Thank you for helping us raise $5,625.20 for the Alzheimer's Association. We can't wait to see you and your pups again in 2027!
