Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween Comes to Tempe This October
There’s something special about bringing a community together for a good cause, and it’s even better when dogs, costumes and a little Halloween fun are involved!
Senior Helpers of Tempe is excited to present Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween, a free family and dog-friendly community event benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
Join us on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the North Soccer Field at Kiwanis Park in Tempe for a morning filled with fun for people and pups of all ages.
A Free Halloween Event for the Whole Family
Paws for a Cause: Howl-O-Ween is completely free to attend, so bring the kids, bring your pup and come enjoy the morning with us.
We’ll have:
- A community Trick-or-Treat Trail
- Photo booth
- Dog costume contest
- Kids activities and games
- Food and treats
- Alzheimer’s Association resources
- Cash prizes
Whether you come for the costumes, the dogs or simply to spend a beautiful October morning at Kiwanis Park, everyone is welcome.
Enter the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest
Think your pup has what it takes to steal the show?
Our Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest will feature three categories:
Best Dog Costume
Best Dog + Human/Family Duo
Funniest Dog Costume
And we’re making the competition extra fun with a $200 cash prize for the winner of each category!
There is a $10 donation to enter the costume contest, with 100% benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
You can register through the event link or simply make a donation if you aren’t able to attend.
Having Fun While Supporting an Important Cause
While we hope Paws for a Cause becomes a fun annual tradition for Tempe families, there is an important reason behind everything we’re doing.
Through the Alzheimer’s Association’s Do What You Love to End ALZ campaign, we’re turning something we love, bringing people together in our community, into an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
As a local home care provider, our Senior Helpers team sees firsthand how Alzheimer’s and dementia can affect not only the person living with the disease, but their entire family.
That’s why this cause means so much to us.
100% of event proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

We also want Paws for a Cause to showcase the incredible businesses and organizations that make our community special.
We’re currently welcoming local businesses, community organizations, sponsors and vendors who would like to participate in the event.
Businesses can join our community Trick-or-Treat Trail, host a table, connect with local families or explore one of our event sponsorship opportunities.
