Along with new management in 2017 Senior Helpers reinvented itself with a focus on quality, community, service, and care. My name is David Hanley and I am the Owner of Senior Helpers of Horry and Georgetown County and I know how critical it is to find the right person to help aid your loved ones when they need it the most. I was the primary caregiver to both of my parents during the most difficult period of their lives. My father had Congestive Heart Failure and my mother was suffering from advanced Alzheimer’s. In a 2 year period we went through over 30 caregivers until we found the right match. This time was without question the most difficult of my life and it took a real toll on me emotionally as well as physically. This experience is the reason I am in this profession and have dedicated my life to helping others get through this brutal and lonely process as painlessly as possible. I run this service because I KNOW what it takes to be a caregiver and also be on the other end as an exhausted family member looking for help.
It is also important to note that Senior Helpers of Georgetown and Horry County are vendors in good standing with the VA. Veterans constitute a major part of our client base and we would not be in this position without going the extra yard for our veterans. The VA has seen this time and time again and as a result trust us to take care of these heroes.

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.
The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

As owner of Senior Helpers of Greater Myrtle Beach David is responsible for ensuring the company continues to provide the tailored Home Care that our clients have come to expect. Excellence is the standard and we strive to achieve that every day with every client. Prior to Senior Helpers David worked overseas for various technology companies. It ultimately became clear that he needed to come home as his parents were aging and suffering from several issues such as COPD, and Advanced Alzheimer’s. David spent 2.5 years caring for his parents which gave him a very good introduction to the field of Home Care.
Taylor is the Senior Helpers “Do It All” team member who keeps the wheels on the bus at all times. As the Billing & Payroll Specialist, Taylor oversees all client billing accounts and caregiver payroll information. Taylor is also our Scheduling Coordinator, carefully matching the specific needs of the client with the experience and compassionate personalities of our caregivers. She also supports the office on a daily basis alongside Casey while maintaining records and assisting with office administration. Taylor is the quintessential team member kind, compassionate, and very capable.
Director of Operations
Casey oversees the daily operations of Senior Helpers ensuring that our high standards are met with exceptional caregivers and customer service. In addition to daily operations, she is also responsible for online marketing/recruiting as well as new client inquires. She has worked for the past 6 years in Home Care and truly has a passion for working with seniors in our community. Casey’s years of experience in the most successful Home Care companies adds a whole new dimension to Senior Helpers.
