Senior Helpers Opens Doors in Asheville!

ASHEVILLE, NC (April 25, 2022)—Senior Helpers®, one of the nation’s premier providers of personalized in-home senior care, today announced the official opening of its Asheville location, to be managed and operated by Daniel Pickus. The new franchise will serve senior citizens and their families in Asheville and Hendersonville, and it hopes to bring more than 75 new jobs to the region over the next year. Senior Helpers’ professionally trained caregivers will help local seniors continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home despite age-related illnesses and mobility challenges.

“The vibrant mountain communities of Asheville and Hendersonville are ideal retirement destinations, highly suitable for retirees and seniors,” said Daniel Pickus. “I chose senior care because I want to contribute to my community in a meaningful way. Helping seniors find the support and resources they need in order to continue enjoying their independence at home certainly fits the bill. Opening a new Senior Helpers location is more than just a new business venture for me—it’s a mission with a purpose.”

Pickus witnessed the struggles that his own grandparents went through near the end of their lives as their health began to deteriorate, which made him reflect on all of the challenges associated with elderly care. He will work alongside Kirstin Snider, RN, BSN and agency director for the local Senior Helpers office, to ensure that the highest quality of senior care services are offered to clients. Kirstin’s steadfast focus has been on recruiting and training caregivers, and she and Daniel are excited for the opportunity to work in a growing industry with so much need, as well as alleviate caregiving stress for seniors and their families.

Senior Helpers operates with a vision to be the leading home care company in each community it serves. Its caregivers in Asheville and Hendersonville are trained to offer the highest level of care possible based on the company’s Senior Gems® Alzheimer’s and Dementia care program. As the gold standard for excellence in personalized in-home senior care, the program was developed in conjunction with nationally recognized dementia care expert Teepa Snow, Positive Approach, LLC. Local residents will also benefit from the company’s Parkinson’s Care Program, a specialized training program for their caregivers created in conjunction with leading experts from the Parkinson’s Foundation’s Centers of Excellence network.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Daniel Pickus to our team as the newest Senior Helpers franchise owner,” said Peter Ross, chief executive officer, Senior Helpers. “Daniel is passionate about his community and working collectively with teams toward common goals, and his understanding of the importance for quality in-home senior care will be rewarding for seniors and families living in Asheville and the surrounding communities.”
