Authorized VA Provider

Authorized VA Provider

As a Senior Helpers VA provider, it is our honor and privilege to be able to give back to our Veterans within our community. We are dedicated to giving veterans the care that they deserve. As a contracted provider we can assist our veterans who need personal care services and help with activities of daily living.  The Homemaker and Home Health Aide program is to help veterans remain safe and independent while continuing to live in their own home.

Examples of daily activities you may be able to receive help with include:

  • Eating
  • Getting dressed
  • Personal grooming
  • Bathing
  • Using the bathroom
  • Moving from one place to another
  • Grocery Shopping

You can continue to receive services for as long as you need extra help with your daily activities. Since Homemaker Home Health Aide services are part of the Standard Medical VA Benefits Package all enrolled veterans are eligible and meet the clinical need for service.

To find out if you are eligible for the Homemaker and Home Health Aide benefits, call the VA benefits hotline at 800-827-1000.

How do I decide if a Homemaker and Home Health Aide is right for me?

You can use the document at the link here: Veteran Decision Aid for Care at Home or in the Community to help you figure out what home care services or long-term care services may best meet your needs now or in the future.

VA Aid and Attendance Benefit

Senior Helpers of Roseville is helping senior Veterans to understand how they can qualify and apply for the VA’s Aid & Attendance Benefit, which pays seniors for the in-home senior care they need to live comfortably and safely. Veterans, their spouses, and surviving spouses of veterans may be eligible for this benefit, which is a tax-free pension benefit that provides financial aid to help offset the cost of long-term, nonmedical in-home care.

There are currently millions of veterans who qualify for the VA Aid & Attendance benefit, but they do not know it or are uncertain how to access it. Veterans who served a minimum of 90 days of active duty, including one day of active duty during a period of war such as World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War, all may qualify for this benefit.

As experts in the senior care industry, Senior Helpers® understands the needs of our Veterans. We work seamlessly with the professional assistance organizations to make sure that veterans and their spouses receive the benefits they deserve as quickly as possible. While the assistance organization helps you start your application, Senior Helpers will begin to provide the in-home quality senior care you deserve.

Senior Helpers in-home senior care helps our Veterans to get around and enjoy their senior years safely and healthfully. Personalized daily plans are developed and customized to your unique needs and designed to preserve your independence and freedom, while allowing you to remain in the comfort of your home.

Senior Helpers Proudly Cares for Our Veterans

"The American Legion, veterans’ organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families, highly recommends Senior Helpers as a top choice for utilizing the VA's Aid & Attendance Benefit. This benefit serves as a vital support system for seniors, providing them with the necessary assistance to receive in-home senior care.

Recently, Senior Helpers was called upon to assist an elderly male veteran coping with Parkinson's disease. His devoted wife, who had been taking care of him, found it increasingly challenging to manage the day-to-day tasks associated with his care. Consequently, her own health began to decline rapidly.

Fortunately, Senior Helpers swiftly intervened, recognizing the urgent need for professional assistance. Thanks to their prompt response, this veteran is now receiving the specialized care he requires to manage his condition effectively. Moreover, with the burden of caregiving alleviated, his wife can dedicate more time and attention to their eldest vulnerable son and prioritize her own mental well-being.

The diligent and compassionate support provided by Senior Helpers has truly made a significant impact on the lives of this veteran and his wife. By addressing their care needs, both physical and emotional, Senior Helpers has improved their overall quality of life and restored a sense of balance and stability to their household.

Through their partnership, Senior Helpers and the American Legion continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those who have served our country." ~Janet L., American Legion
