This Valentine’s Day, our team had the privilege of turning simple handwritten notes into powerful moments of connection through our annual Dear Senior Valentine’s Card Drive.
Earlier in the week, our team gathered to create heartfelt Valentine’s cards filled with encouraging messages for local seniors. On Friday, those cards were hand-delivered to residents in independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities throughout our area.
The Power of a Handwritten Message
The reactions from seniors were truly unforgettable. Many shared how much it meant to receive a handwritten card and to know someone in the community was thinking of them on Valentine’s Day. For some, it was more than a card—it was a reminder that they are seen, remembered, and valued.
These special moments reflect what we believe at Senior Helpers: companionship and kindness make a real difference. While our caregivers provide essential support with daily tasks and personal care, it’s the small gestures—conversation, shared laughter, and heartfelt notes—that often leave the biggest impact.
Caregivers Leading with Heart
We’re especially grateful to the caregivers who participated in the event and helped deliver cards throughout the community. A special thank you goes to Terry Stewart, who not only joined us to create cards but also represented our team during local television interviews, helping share the heart behind what we do every day.
We were honored to see the story featured on KCTV, KMBC, and KSHB, highlighting the importance of community connection and support for seniors.
