Senior Center (located at Sunshine Park), Winter Springs

The City of Winter Springs’ Senior Center provides exercise programs and group activities that boost physical activity and promote social interaction. Encourage senior loved ones and family caregivers to register for group exercise programs or sign up for the low-impact aquatic exercise classes at the Therapy Pool located inside the Senior Center. Chair yoga, beginners Tai-Chi, and cardio fit classes are just some of the group exercises on offer. Other activities of interest include ceramic classes, line dancing, painting, mahjong, and bingo.

This neighborhood park contains basketball and volleyball courts and a softball practice field. The Winter Springs’ Senior Center and local Civic Center are also located here. Butterfly Encounter at Lukas Nursery, in neighboring Oviedo 

Another fun activity to include on your monthly calendar is a visit to the Butterfly Encounter at Lukas Nursery in neighboring Oviedo, Florida. The Butterfly Encounter is approximately 4.3 to 5.7 miles from Trotwood Park in Winter Springs, depending on which route you take. Plan a family visit to the butterfly and bird sanctuary to observe all the amazing birds, butterflies, and flowering plants. Peak butterfly season is from April through September.

Butterfly Encounter is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The last admission is 3:30 p.m.
