Non-pharmacological treatments play a critical role in preventing and slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This presentation will provide the latest updates on prevention and treatment strategies, emphasizing the importance of managing midlife risk factors and adopting evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Attendees will be taught practical, actionable steps to support cognitive health and learn about a comprehensive range of local, state, regional and national resources available for individuals and families living with memory loss and dementia.
Call Jen Graf at 262-965-7133 to schedule a 20-minute session/location. Appointments also are available as needed. Screenings do not diagnose dementia but will indicate if you should follow up with your physician regarding memory issues.
Presented by Jen Graf, Senior Director of Dementia Programming

Ever wonder why it is so hard to start -- or stop -- a habit? This session will explore what science tells us about how habits form in the brain, and how we can use that knowledge to build better routines for health, happiness and memory. We will learn about the “habit loop,” discover simple strategies that make new behaviors stick and practice real-life examples from improving sleep to remembering daily medications.
For those with a movement disorder (Parkison’s disease, essential tremor, Tourette’s, MS, dystonia, restless leg syndrome and more), for those caring for someone with a movement disorder or for those who just want to learn more. Receive support and advice from others on a similar journey.

Hearing connects us in every way possible. Without it, we lose touch with life and those around us. Unaddressed hearing loss not only affects the listener's ability to hear sound accurately but it affects higher-level cognitive function. In this presentation you will learn about healthy hearing, how to protect your hearing, and the consequences of untreated hearing loss, including the link to cognitive decline. Free hearing screens after the presentation.

Reignite focus, confidence, and mental energy. Back by popular demand, this January session helps you jump-start your brain health for the year ahead. Led live online by Dr. Michelle Braun, national brain health expert, neuropsychologist, and author of High-Octane Brain: 5 Science-Based Steps to Sharpen Your Memory and Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s, with onsite Three Pillars facilitation. This engaging session will highlight how you can meet your brain health goals with EXCELS, a five-step, science-based model shown to support memory, joy, and independence while reducing Alzheimer’s risk. You will engage in socially based cognitive exercises — guided group activities that strengthen thinking skills and address common “brain blips,” such as forgetting why you walked into a room or struggling to find the right word. The session includes live Q&A, a seasonal brain-healthy recipe, and proven results — 100 percent of past participants reported improved memory!
Join others caring for loved ones with dementia for support and advice. Respite care is available for the evening group; reservations must be made before noon, January 21 by calling Jen Graf at X7133.
