More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers Franklin we believe  getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  We are committed to delivering the best possible in-home care to seniors in the Franklin community.

We take in-home care very seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  Over the past years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of Franklin was proud to join the system.  Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.  

We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

Meet the Franklin Team

Michael Thaler

Branch Administrator

Michael started with us as a Client Services Manager but was quickly promoted to the Branch Administrator for our Franklin branch. He graduated from MTSU in 2010 with a B.S. in Psychology. Michael moved to Oregon right after where he started his career in home care. He worked as a caregiver with adults with developmental disabilities for over 5 years. Michael has also worked in low-income housing as a Resident Service Coordinator in downtown Portland for 2 years. Michael ensures that his clients are always in the loop along with the right caregiver that he matches for them. Michaels number one priority is peace of mind.

Amy Walter

Care Manager

Amy Walter is a licensed master social worker with over 13 years of experience. She has worked internationally as a medical social worker in Dublin, Ireland, as well as locally she has been a social worker at rehab here in Nashville Tennessee. For the past 7+ years, Amy has used her experiences at Senior Helpers, to help the elder transition home with the care they need to stay safe. She also uses innovation and education to change the way care is provided to an ever-growing aging population. Amy is a Certified Dementia Care Specialist and a Certified Life Planning Facilitator. Amy has a passion for helping families navigate the world of Senior Care and training on areas such as Dementia, Parkinson’s and other Chronic Care Solutions. When not helping the aging community, Amy is spending time with her husband and two sons.

Deborah Brown

HR Manager

Deborah manages the recruitment and onboarding of new Caregivers joining the Franklin team, as well as ongoing performance management and administrative compliance. Prior to joining Senior Helpers in 2017, Deborah spent 15+ years in private higher education, 10 of those years in Campus Director roles with key responsibility for daily operations, staff training and development, and customer service. This background has instilled in Deborah a rich appreciation for serving, developing, and retaining skilled personnel; furthermore, it fuels her ongoing commitment to partnering our Clients with top-notch Caregivers. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western Kentucky University and has a passion for competitive billiards.

Justina Hollars

Lead Scheduler

Justina is our Lead Scheduler/Client Service Manager in our Franklin office. She has over six years of experience in client care. She has scheduled caregivers/clients for over 5 years in home health. Her experiences range from Customer Services Manager to a Field Coordinator covering 15 counties in the South Central Region of Tennessee. She enjoys working in Home Health. Justina has worked as a CNA while holding her BLS for the past seven years. Justina has a passion for serving all clients with their every need. Her main focus is to better serve our clients by ensuring that they have the proper caregivers and consistent scheduling. Gathering constant feedback from the field allows her to improve our clients care. This feedback will ensure that quality and proper service exceeds our client’s expectations.

Caring for a Loved One with Dementia or Alzheimer's

Caring for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer's is difficult. At Senior Helpers we have trained specialists in the area of dementia care. If you need immediate care we are on our way.

I received an emotional call from (a family member) this morning just absolutely thankful and praising the services she got from you guys over the last couple of days. She said that our team helped her more than she could have ever imagined or expected and she is beyond thankful. She is so grateful to whoever answered the phone the other day at 5am and had a caregiver there to help within hours and she couldn’t believe how much you guys cared about getting someone there. She said she couldn’t have dealt with the passing of (client) without your help and the amazing caregivers that were sent. You really really, REALLY helped someone who needed it and that’s what this is all about.
