Meet the Metro Portland North Office

Kyle Harris serves as the President of Senior Helpers of Portland/Vancouver and has been involved in the family business since the early beginnings in 2012. Throughout Kyle’s time working for Senior Helpers of Portland/Vancouver, he developed a passion for in home senior care and considers it a “sacred work” and stands committed to serving Seniors in his community with the highest level of care. Prior to joining Senior Helpers, Kyle spent his career as a finance executive transforming financial and operational systems, managing teams domestically and across the globe. He is actively involved with seniors and youth alike within his local community and church organizations and enjoys all things outdoors. Kyle is supported by his beautiful wife, Ronnie and his three young boys, Rocklin, Leo, and Jay.

Nathan Harris is the Director of Client Services for Senior Helpers of Portland/Vancouver. After having worked as Director of Marketing and a Scheduling Manager and Recruiting Manager for Senior Helpers, Nathan pursued a degree in Biochemistry at Brigham Young University - Idaho, with hopes of entering the healthcare field. Through various sales positions he worked in to pay tuition, Nathan learned that the best way to earn a client's business was to be an advocate for them, helping to relieve stress wherever it was possible. In his personal life, Nathan serves regularly in his church, is chronically social, and is trying to be outside more than inside.

Annjohnette is a Filipina American, born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2018 to attend nursing school at the University of Portland.

Her passion for healthcare began at age three, shaped by her family’s experiences, especially her grandmother’s dementia diagnosis. That passion led her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health and Wellness with a concentration in Wellness Promoting.

Annjohnette brings years of experience in customer service management, hospitality and restaurants, along with volunteer work in a hospital surgery department and time at a physical therapy clinic as a physical therapy aide and patient care coordinator. She has spent much of her life volunteering, exploring new hobbies and playing sports.

Although she is more than 2,000 miles from her family and home in Hawaii, she has found a second family here in the PNW and makes a difference in the community every day.

Outside of work, Annjohnette enjoys time with her boyfriend, friends and two dogs. She loves finding new places to eat, cooking and baking, painting, music, and dancing.

Born and raised in Portland, I have a great love for the Northwest. I also have a great love of caring for our senior community.

My passion started when I was very young working in nursing facilities. It was reignited when I took care of my father on hospice. The genuine compassion and care of all who helped me through changed my life. I realized that giving that same compassion and care is what I’m supposed to do. With 20+ years’ experience in training and customer service I’m happy to share with new caregivers the rewards of what we do.

Family is everything to me and I’m very lucky to be supported by my husband, sister, daughter and two sons. We all love camping, swimming and exploring new places. And we especially love our dogs.

As a Registered Nurse in the Philippines who transitioned into Human Resources, I've been a dedicated HR practitioner since 2016, specializing in recruitment since 2020. My true passion lies in connecting with people and guiding them towards new career opportunities. I have three years of global experience as a healthcare recruiter, successfully placing candidates in contact centers and aged care/retirement facilities. Helping individuals secure the right role is what truly energizes me. In my free time, I prioritize family weekends, and also enjoy cooking and watching documentaries

Karen is a Home Care Specialist with 6 years of experience in client relations, including nearly 4 years in customer service, where she worked with international clients across various industries. While new to the home care field, Karen’s strong background in communication, problem-solving, and customer support enables her to effectively assist families with their care needs. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors. She is passionate about connecting with others and values the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those she works with.

My Calling Has Always Been to Care for Others

My passion for caring for older adults began when I was just a young girl. Back then, we called them convalescent homes, and my friends and I would visit, never realizing just how much those experiences would shape my future. Seeing the smiles we could bring to the residents’ faces brightened my day and planted a seed in my heart that would grow into a lifelong calling.

I began my professional career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Southern California, where I discovered that caring for others extended far beyond the elderly. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from many walks of life, including those experiencing addiction, mental health challenges, and special needs. My heart has always been drawn to people who are vulnerable, struggling, or simply in need of someone who cares.

Throughout the years, I have worn many hats. In addition to my work in caregiving, I became a state board instructor for cosmetology, where I had the opportunity to teach, mentor, and encourage others. Although my career has taken me down many different paths, one thing has always remained constant: my passion for helping people. Whether it is preparing a meal, assisting someone with a shower, accompanying them to a doctor's appointment, helping with medications, or simply sitting down to have a meaningful conversation, I believe that every act of kindness matters. Sometimes, it is the smallest gestures that make the biggest difference in someone's life.

I moved from California to Oregon during the height of COVID, and during that transition, I was fortunate to find Senior Helpers. Having worked with several home care agencies throughout my career, I can honestly say that Senior Helpers has become home to me. It is a place where I feel connected to a mission that aligns with my heart: providing quality, compassionate care while helping individuals maintain their dignity, independence, and quality of life.

My journey with Senior Helpers began as a caregiver, where I had the opportunity to make a difference firsthand in the lives of the individuals we served. Through dedication, hard work, and a genuine commitment to our mission, I grew into roles in marketing, client assessment, and now Territory Care Management with the Harris family. Each step has allowed me to expand my ability to serve others, support families, build meaningful relationships within our community, and help ensure that individuals receive the care they deserve.

When I look back on my journey, I realize that the little girl visiting those convalescent homes never really left me. She is still the same person who wants to bring a smile to someone's face, offer comfort during a difficult time, and remind people that they are not alone.

Caring for others has never just been a job for me. It is who I am, it is what I believe in, and it is my calling. I am proud to be part of the Senior Helpers family, and I look forward to continuing this journey of compassion, connection, and service for many years to come.

People have always been at the heart of what he does. Starting in hospitality as a Guest Service Relations associate and in customer service, he learned how small acts of care and clear communication can make someone’s day easier. For the past four years as a scheduler in U.S. home care, he has brought that same mindset to his work—connecting with caregivers, understanding their needs, and creating schedules that help families feel supported.

Music has always been a big part of his life, and it’s another way he connects with people. He sings at wedding gigs and leads workshops for chorale groups across the Philippines, experiences that inspire him, teach him about teamwork, and remind him how rewarding it is to be part of something bigger than himself.

Ruby has over a decade of experience in operational and executive support, with a focus on client care coordination in healthcare. She has worked with multiple US agencies, managed operational teams, and overseen complex projects to deliver efficient, high-quality service.

Finishing her Master’s in Business Administration, Ruby combines business knowledge with practical experience to provide effective support to both clients and caregivers. In her personal time, she loves traveling and exploring new cultures, bringing adaptability and a global perspective to her professional work.

Cristine Pabilonia brings a strong background in operations, team management, and executive support, having worked with multiple US-based companies before transitioning into the home care industry. Her experience in operations has given her a strong foundation in organization, coordination, and team support.

Her journey in home care began as a scheduler and has since expanded to include billing and invoicing, client intake, VA contract management, and recruitment. Currently serving as a Scheduling Coordinator, Cristine helps ensure smooth daily operations by coordinating care schedules and supporting both clients and caregivers.

Her passion for home care is deeply personal, shaped by her firsthand experience caring for a sick family member. This experience gave her a deeper appreciation for the importance of compassionate care and the difference it makes in the lives of individuals and their families. She brings that same compassion, dedication, and commitment to her role, striving to support a team that delivers dependable, quality care to those who need it most.

Monique has been in the caregiving industry for the past three years, bringing compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others. During this time, she had the privilege of working as an Administrative Assistant at a hospice facility, where she supported families during some of life’s most challenging moments. Offering comfort, reassurance, and guidance to those in need became one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.

Before entering the care industry, Monique spent 20 years as an Administrative Assistant at Stoel Rives LLP, one of the nation’s prestigious law firms. Although she valued her professional experience, she felt called to make a career change that would allow her to have a more personal impact on the lives of others.

That decision proved to be deeply rewarding. Monique discovered that helping people and supporting families through difficult times brought a special sense of purpose and fulfillment to her life.

Today, Monique is proud to be part of the Senior Helpers team, a decision she describes as “one of the best decisions I have ever made.”

For Monique, caregiving is much more than a job—it is a passion. She believes in treating every individual with kindness, dignity, and compassion, while helping families find comfort and peace of mind. Her greatest joy comes from knowing that even the smallest act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Monique is grateful for the opportunity to serve others and is committed to making each person’s life a little brighter, more comfortable, and more special.

I have been a registered nurse since 2010, and I’m proud to serve Senior Helpers clients throughout Oregon and Washington.

I have worked in health care since 1999 and have been fortunate to serve people in a wide range of settings. In addition to my role with Senior Helpers, I work part-time at a local hospital.

My goal is to help clients feel safe, comfortable, and supported at home for as long as possible. As a native Northwesterner, I love spending time outdoors and enjoying the company of my 14-year-old mixed-breed Chihuahua.
