Our History

Opening a Senior Helpers location in our Northern Queens community was a deeply personal journey for Julia Bolt. After witnessing the profound impact that leaving home had on her once vibrant and independent grandmother, Julia knew something had to change. The emotional toll that transition took on her family opened her eyes to how essential it is for older adults to age in place—in the comfort, familiarity, and security of their own homes.

That experience sparked a powerful commitment: to ensure that other families wouldn’t have to face the same hardship without support. Julia chose to partner with Senior Helpers because of its mission-driven, personalized approach to care. For her, this business isn’t just about providing services—it’s about restoring dignity, preserving independence, and keeping families connected through every stage of aging.

Senior Helpers of Northern Queens was founded with a clear purpose: to deliver compassionate, professional, and customized in-home care that truly makes a difference. With a strong foundation rooted in empathy, integrity, and community, we are proud to be a trusted partner for families navigating the challenges of aging.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Owner

Julia Bolt is the proud owner and operator of Senior Helpers of Northern Queens. From managing large-scale crisis responses to offering direct support to the city’s most vulnerable populations, Julia’s life has been centered around service and making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Julia played a vital role at the Citi Field Vaccine Center and later served as Deputy Director of the Trace Operations Support Team for New York City. She was instrumental in ensuring that essential resources were delivered efficiently and equitably during an unprecedented time. Her humanitarian efforts continued as she worked with the Emergency Response and Relief Center to support incoming migrant families in need of critical services. These moments, marked by empathy and resilience, have deeply shaped her approach to senior care.

What excites Julia most about her work with Senior Helpers is the opportunity to empower older adults to maintain their independence and dignity at home. She believes that aging should never mean sacrificing one's sense of self or quality of life. Through customized care plans, meaningful companionship, and a genuine commitment to service, Julia and her team strive to be a dependable, compassionate presence for every family they serve.

Outside of her professional life, Julia finds joy in staying active and grounded. She is an avid reader, a dedicated yogi, and a cycling enthusiast who loves discovering the city on two wheels. Whether it’s exploring New York’s cultural landmarks or recharging through mindfulness, Julia embraces life with curiosity and compassion—values she brings to every interaction with her clients and community.
