Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site

Home of the American author, journalist and poet set in 270 acres in Western North Carolina. The park contains forests and woodlands, rock outcrops and cove forests, fields and ponds. Park grounds, trails and parking lots are open from sunrise to sunset daily and are free admission. There are paid tours of the home that must be scheduled in advance.

This dog and family-friendly park offers nice flat paths for walking, grassy areas for exercise and a covered pic-nic area to take a break.
