Meet the Stillwater office

More than 90% of seniors want to be able to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers of Stillwater we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  We recognize the growing need for in-home care services, and with our passion for helping others, we are committed to delivering the best possible care to seniors in the Stillwater community. 

We take the opportunity to provide care in your home seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  We have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs. Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution.  Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited.  Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers. 

The first office opened in Baltimore, Maryland, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  For more than 20 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States. 

Senior Helpers of Stillwater was proud to join the system in 2023.  Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and accessible in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.  We are lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Pat Reardon

Pat Reardon

Owner, Community Relations

Pat left a career in the food industry to start Senior Helpers of Stillwater at the end of 2022. He loves helping seniors and families when they need some extra care. Pat and his wife Geri have 5 children who are “mostly” out of the house, and a yellow lab named Derby who keeps them moving. Pat gets personal fulfillment from helping others in their time of need.

Director of Operations

Colleen comes to us from Wisconsin but grew up just north of Stillwater in Scandia, Minnesota. Colleen is a mother of three and grandmother of two and has been a caregiver for several family members who have dealt with the effects of dementia. As the youngest of five, she knows the importance and value of helping those in need and enjoys mentoring our future caregivers.

Client & Community Relations Mgr

Amy joined Senior Helpers Stillwater as the Client & Community Relations Manager, bringing 21 years of healthcare experience, including five years in home care and hospice, as well as a bachelor's degree in healthcare management. Born and raised in Stillwater, she has a deep love for her community. Outside of work, Amy is a proud mom of two children and two sweet dogs.

Jenn Corey, RN

Jenn Corey, RN

Care Manager

Jenn has 26 years of nursing experience across a variety of specialties, and always held a deep passion for Geriatrics and supporting those in need. She’s proud to be part of the Senior Helpers of Stillwater team, where she can continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. She lives in Afton, MN with her husband and their three wonderful daughters. Her family also includes Riggs, a lovable 90 lb. Goldendoodle.

Melanie Lee, MSN

Staff RN

Melanie Lee has a Master's of Science in Nursing, with emphasis in Community Health from Case Western Reserve University. She has worked with the life spectrum as a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner, Licensed School Nurse and now Community Health Nurse emphasizing long term support for seniors and those with disabilities.

Suzy Martinez

Suzy Martinez

Recruiter/HR Coordinator

Suzy’s career in healthcare began in 2003, when she worked as an office lead and medical biller for a 97-bed nursing home and a 17-bed transitional care unit. For 13 years, she owned and operated a certified massage therapy business specializing in care for individuals with dementia and Parkinson’s disease among others. Suzy’s heart remains in helping others.

Malayna Zackary

Lead Caregiver

Malyana was born in Minnesota and lived in Arkansas before recently moving to Somerset, Wisconsin, to help care for her niece and grandmother. She has worked as a hospital caregiver and has home health experience as well. Malayna takes pride in being hardworking, compassionate, and dedicated. In her free time, she enjoys bowling, trying new recipes, and crafting. She is also the proud owner of five dogs!

Angelica is from the Colombian Caribbean coast, She's been working in the home care industry for four years as a recruiter and scheduler for one of the biggest home care agencies, and is excited to bring her experience and skills to Senior Helpers of Stillwater. She loves to weightlift, dance and cook..

I want to take this opportunity to express our thanks for the superb work Diane did for Dad while he was in the hospital. She was punctual, personable, and dedicated. She helped my Dad immensely during a difficult time for him. Her calm manner and brilliant smile worked magic. My Dad’s attitude changed completely for the better after her first visit. Thank you so much for giving us Diane. She really is a remarkable person and very caring.
