Senior Helpers Open Doors in Moanalua, Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI (February 28, 2022)—Senior Helpers®, one of the nation’s premier providers of personalized in-home senior care, today announced the official opening of its Moanalua-Honolulu location, to be managed and operated by Jenny Cambra. The new franchise will serve senior citizens and their families throughout the western end of Honolulu area, which includes Ala Moana, Kaka'ako, Honolulu Metro Area, Salt Lake, Moanalua and more, and it hopes to bring upwards of 75 new jobs to the region over the next year. Senior Helpers’ professionally trained caregivers will help local seniors continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home despite age-related illnesses and mobility challenges.

“Prior to the pandemic, I was working as a financial advisor and my eyes were opened to the lack of resources available to our aging population as they make decisions about their future,” said Cambra. “Navigating the complexity of nursing homes and other senior living facilities can be challenging and stressful and I want Senior Helpers of Moanalua-Honolulu to be a helpful resource for our senior citizens who are exploring their options. Being able to help our most vulnerable elderly and their families living their best life on the island is what excites me most about this new venture. I’m so happy to join the Senior Helpers family and provide personalized in-home senior care and specialized caregiver training in Alzheimer’s, dementia and Parkinson’s disease to the people of Hawaii.”

Cambra was born and raised in Beijing, China before moving to Hawaii, where she decided to change her career from hospitality to the in-home care business and give back to her community in a more meaningful way. Having witnessed her own grandparents battle dementia and the stress it caused her mother, Cambra is passionate about helping in any way she can and hopes this new Senior Helpers location will allow Hawaii’s large elderly population to have a better quality of life at home.

Senior Helpers operates with a vision to be the leading home care company in each community it serves. Its caregivers in Moanalua, Honolulu are trained to offer the highest level of care possible based on the company’s Senior Gems® Alzheimer’s and Dementia care program. As the gold standard for excellence in personalized in-home senior care, the program was developed in conjunction with nationally recognized dementia care expert Teepa Snow, Positive Approach, LLC. Local residents will also benefit from the company’s Parkinson’s Care Program, a specialized training program for their caregivers created in conjunction with leading experts from the Parkinson’s Foundation’s Centers of Excellence network.

“We’re pleased to welcome Jenny to our team as the newest Senior Helpers franchise owner,” said Peter Ross, chief executive officer, Senior Helpers. “Jenny’s compassion for others and desire to provide the most essential needs for those within her community will serve her well and be rewarding for seniors and families living in Moanalua, Honolulu and the surrounding area.”
