"Sr. Helpers...
After meeting with the owner, I was convinced this was the agency that we could work with. I could tell this was more than an employment agency..They really cared..In the beginning we had help just for a few hours a week and that was fine. We meet some very efficient women...But as my husbands health declined I felt that I needed a more experienced caregiver...Some were very efficient, they knew the how’s and whys of healthcare. But then there is one that enters your home and your heart...That person was Marie L. Not only because the laundry was folded so neatly or that she was fussy about keeping my husband clean and comfortable. She encouraged him to walk with her to the mailbox and cheered him on, she did exercise each day to make sure he would walk. But when it got really bad here, Marie would sit with me and talk about my future. About how I could make a life for myself alone. She hounded me to eat...and made sure that I did. She became my strength..I don’t think I could have come out so strong if I didn’t have this wonderful woman with me, encouraging me. At my husbands funeral, the clergy told the audience about her and how grateful my family was...Marie is the guideline every aide should follow...a big hearted woman in a tiny body...we are forever grateful and thankful for knowing her."
I just got back from a short stay with my parents. This is simply to let you know how much my mother and I appreciate the wonderful care that Michelene, Gerardine, Judie, Nathalie, and So-So are providing for my father. It is reassuring to know that my father is being shown so much kindness and compassion.
