Our History
Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.
The first office opened in Baltimore, Maryland, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. For more than 20 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 340 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.
Senior Helpers of Central Southwest Houston was proud to join the system in 2026.
Serving Houston’s seniors with dignity, compassion, and purpose
Sana Quadri comes to Senior Helpers with deep healthcare experience. As a former Medical Technologist and college-level Microbiology instructor, she has long understood the science of aging as well as the human side of it. Her years in hospital environments fostered a strong commitment to care, accuracy, and service—qualities that naturally translate into supporting seniors and their families. Later, she joined the education ranks, serving as an ESL support staff member to vulnerable families new to the country and working with family members of all ages and from all walks of life—guiding them through early school years.
In recent years, she and Rizvan have watched their own parents navigate the realities of aging. They have seen firsthand the challenges that arise when mobility changes, when independence becomes fragile, and when families need trustworthy support. These experiences created a personal clarity: compassionate in-home care is not just helpful—it can transform lives.
Rizvan Quadri began his professional journey in the healthcare field, working as a physical therapy technician in clinic and hospital settings across Southeast Texas. Those early years shaped his belief that serving others is a calling—one that transcends industries and titles. Although his career later expanded into education leadership and, ultimately, human resources, the lessons learned in patient care stayed with him: empathy matters, dignity matters, and every person deserves to feel supported.
Today, as an HR Director serving vulnerable families and employees in a major public agency, Rizvan’s commitment to uplifting people remains central to his identity. Senior Helpers represents a return to his roots—a way to blend compassion, leadership, and community service to support one of society’s most treasured groups: our seniors.
A Shared Calling to Support Aging with Dignity
Together, Sana and Rizvan chose Senior Helpers because it aligns with their shared belief that seniors deserve the chance to age safely, comfortably, and gracefully in their own homes. Senior Helpers’ evidence-based Life Profile Assessment, specialized Alzheimer’s and dementia programs, Parkinson’s Care training, and commitment to 24/7 responsiveness allow them to bring world-class care to their community.
Their mission is simple but powerful:
- Serve each senior as if they were their own parent.
- Provide each family with comfort, clarity, and confidence.
- Never say “no” to someone in need.
For the Quadri family, Senior Helpers is not just a business—It is an expression of their values, their compassion, and their desire to help seniors live fuller, safer, more joyful lives at home.
