Meet the Charlotte Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity, but getting the right type of care can seem daunting. At Senior Helpers Charlotte we believe getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.

We take in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. Over the past 11 years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers of Charlotte was proud to join the system in 2008. Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.  

We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, review our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's care plan and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  • Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Meet the Charlotte Team



General Manager

Kristi joined Senior Helpers February 2020 as General Manager.  Kristi has 20+yrs experience in the Healthcare Industry and has an excellent understanding of Customer Service and is very Client Service Focused.  

Kristi is passionate about Seniors and says it is truly an honor and privilege to serve them or be a resource for them.  Kristi displays so much eagerness within the greater community to show that Senior Helpers is the #1 Home Care Agency out there that provides the BEST quality care to our Seniors. 



Care Team Manager

Dia joined Senior Helpers January 2020 as Care Team Manager.  Dia has worked with Seniors for the last 5yrs and gets joy from being around them.  She feels this is her purpose.  

Dia lives with her fur baby named Sile.  When she is not working you will find her out in nature or on a beach.  She enjoys reading and creating Holistic Products.  



Office Manager

Judy joined Senor Helpers May 2014 as Office Manager.  Judy has 20+yrs experience in the medical field and she enjoys working with Seniors and helping to make their lives better.  

Judy lives with her husband Paul, daughter Melissa and son-in-law, Darian.  When she is not working she likes to read, exercise and shopping.

Marketing Director

Rebecca joined Senior Helpers July 2020 as Marketing Director.  While a native Carolina Girl she lived all the United States before finally coming home to the Carolinas for good in 2016.  Her passion is celebrating people and their individual stories.  She says we are more alike than we are different. She’s a die-hard sports fan.  In her spare time you can find her and her husband cheering on the Panthers or The Tar Heels, playing with their fur babies or visiting their now-grown children in Baltimore and Asheville.

Office Manager

Kathryn joined Senior Helpers July 2020 as Scheduling Manager.  She recently relocated to Charlotte, NC from Denver, CO to be closer to her family.  She has 20+ years in healthcare in different capacities, From hands-on nursing care to home health, LTC pharmacy, and most recently home care.

​In her free time she spends time with her family and exploring Charlotte and the surrounding areas.
