Meet the Algonquin office

More than 90% of seniors want to be able to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.  At Senior Helpers of Algonquin we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated.  We recognize the growing need for in-home care services, and with our passion for helping others, we are committed to delivering the best possible care to seniors in the Algonquin community. 

We take the opportunity to provide care in your home seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible.  We have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs. Our History

Senior Helpers of Algonquin was founded by Sakina and Syed Hyder out of a shared passion for helping others and a deep understanding of the challenges families face when aging loved ones need support. Inspired by their own caregiving experiences, they wanted to create a trusted local resource that families could rely on for compassionate, professional care. Guided by empathy and a commitment to excellence, the Hyders built Senior Helpers of Algonquin to be a place where seniors feel valued, safe, and respected—because to them, caring for others is not just work; it’s personal.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Sakina Hyder

Sakina Hyder

Owner

Sakina Hyder has spent her career in customer service, where she developed a deep appreciation for helping people and building meaningful relationships. Known for her empathy, attentiveness, and genuine care for others, she has always been driven by a desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Her inspiration to open Senior Helpers of Algonquin came from her personal experience caring for her father, who lives with dementia. Seeing firsthand the challenges families face in finding trusted, compassionate care for their loved ones motivated her to create a service that truly supports both seniors and their families.

Sakina is passionate about ensuring every client is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect, just as she would want for her own family. She takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming environment for both clients and caregivers.

Syed Hyder

Syed Hyder

Owner

With over 25 years of experience as a project manager in the IT industry, Syed Hyder has led large, complex projects and managed teams of more than 100 professionals. His leadership style is rooted in servant leadership, emphasizing empowerment, trust, and collaboration. Syed believes that when people feel supported and valued, they perform at their best.

His journey into senior care was inspired by caring for his mother, which gave him a profound respect for caregivers and the difference compassionate care can make in a family’s life. At Senior Helpers of Algonquin, Syed brings his leadership experience and servant-leader philosophy to create a workplace where caregivers feel appreciated and clients receive exceptional, heartfelt care.

Together, Syed and Sakina are dedicated to serving their community with empathy, integrity, and excellence, ensuring every senior receives the respect and care they deserve.

Kristen O'Reilley

Sales and Marketing Specialist

Kristen brings over 20 years of experience supporting older adults and their families across senior living, skilled nursing, memory care, and home care settings. She is highly skilled in client care coordination, social services management, admissions, and care transitions, with a proven ability to build strong partnerships and enhance the overall client experience.

With deep expertise in dementia care, crisis management, discharge planning, and person-centered support, Kristen is committed to helping families navigate care with confidence and clarity. She holds a Master’s in Counseling and Human Services from Roosevelt University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Kristen is proud to bring her compassion, leadership, and dedication to Senior Helpers, ensuring seniors receive the respectful, individualized care they deserve.
