Our History

Our History

Caring for others has always been a core part of who Dr. Sai Nikitha (Nikki) is, both personally and professionally. Growing up in a close-knit Indian family, she was raised with a deep respect for elders and a natural instinct to care for them. Community well-being and healthcare have always been at the heart of her identity. From a young age, Nikki found joy in giving back—whether it was volunteering at old age homes, organizing blood donation drives, or engaging in local service activities.

Her journey into caregiving began early, not just through medicine but also through art. As a trained Bharatanatyam dancer (a classical Indian dance form), Nikki has performed at assisted living facilities every year since childhood. The smiles and gratitude she received from senior residents during those performances left a lasting impact and deepened her desire to serve others with compassion and care.

This deep-rooted commitment to serving others is what ultimately inspired Nikki to open a Senior Helpers location. For her, this isn’t just a business—it’s a calling. Family has always been at the center of her life, and that same spirit of connection and care guides every aspect of the work she does today. The photo from India serves as a reflection of where it all began—a foundation built on compassion, trust, and dignity. These are the values that continue to shape every decision made and every visit carried out in the homes of the seniors Senior Helpers is honored to serve.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Dr. Sai Nikitha (Nikki) Thummalakunta

Dr. Sai Nikitha’s background is in medicine, with hands-on experience across a range of specialties including Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Orthopedics. She has had the privilege of supporting women through high-risk pregnancies, offering both clinical care and emotional support throughout their prenatal and postpartum journeys. Women’s health and elder care have remained core areas of focus in her medical practice.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Nikki is a certified Clinical Research Professional. Her research work has spanned multiple specialties, including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, and neurology—with a special emphasis on Alzheimer’s and dementia studies. Through this work, she has closely engaged with senior populations, guiding studies, interpreting lab results, and contributing to innovative solutions that enhance patient outcomes.

Beyond healthcare and research, Nikki has also served as a Managing Director in her family-owned sales promotion business. In this role, she led strategic planning, business development, and team leadership initiatives—successfully blending business acumen with her passion for people-centered service.

Community involvement has always been a cornerstone of Nikki’s life. She remains actively involved in health camps, delivering care to underserved populations. Her work with the American Red Cross includes organizing blood donation events, educating donors, and providing post-donation support. She also offers lactation counseling and postpartum support, helping new mothers navigate the early stages of motherhood with confidence and care.

Becoming a Senior Helpers franchise owner is a deeply personal decision for Nikki. It represents a natural extension of her life’s work and values—a way to bring high-quality, personalized care to seniors in the community, while offering peace of mind to their families. Her goal is to help every client live independently and with dignity in the comfort of their own home.

Whether through medical care, emotional support, or simply a listening ear, Nikki is committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the seniors she serves.
