Meet the San Francisco Office

More than 90% of seniors want to be able to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting.

At Senior Helpers of San Francisco, our mission is simple: to provide dependable, high-quality in-home senior care that allows older adults to remain safe, independent, and connected in the community they love.

We understand that choosing senior care in San Francisco is a deeply personal decision. Families often reach out during moments of uncertainty — after a hospital stay, a dementia diagnosis, or when daily tasks become overwhelming. Our role is to bring clarity, structure, and peace of mind during those transitions.

Our goal is to support aging in place — helping seniors maintain dignity, independence, and continuity in the comfort of their own homes.

What sets our office apart is the combination of compassion and structure. Care is personal, but it must also be reliable. We prioritize clear communication, ongoing caregiver training, and accountability so families feel confident in the support their loved ones receive.

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies.  They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution.  Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited.  Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and accessible in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore, Maryland, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand.  Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

A Local Office Built on Service and Accountability

Senior Helpers of San Francisco is locally owned and operated by Whit Lippincott, who brings both a lifelong appreciation for intergenerational connection and a professional background rooted in accountability and measurable outcomes.

Whit’s path to senior care was not defined by a single moment, but by a lifetime of relationships across generations. Some of his earliest memories involve close bonds with older family members and neighbors — people who helped shape his curiosity, confidence, and values. Long before he understood aging in a formal sense, he understood companionship, presence, and the important role older adults play in the lives of younger generations.

That understanding deepened when a close family member entered memory care due to Alzheimer’s. Whit witnessed firsthand how complex and emotionally taxing cognitive decline can be — not just for the individual, but for the entire family. He saw difficult days marked by confusion and frustration, but also meaningful moments where familiarity, conversation, and simple presence restored joy and dignity.

Those experiences left him with two lasting convictions:

  • Aging can become isolating without consistent support
  • Reliable human connection can change everything.

Before opening Senior Helpers of San Francisco, Whit built his career in investment banking and project finance, focusing on mission-driven industries that required careful planning, risk management, and operational discipline. He brings that same structured approach to delivering in-home care in San Francisco — ensuring that compassion is supported by systems that work under pressure.

Supporting Families, Not Just Clients

We recognize that families rarely seek home care casually. Many are balancing careers, caregiving responsibilities, and emotional stress. Our team is committed to listening carefully, setting clear expectations, and maintaining open communication from the first phone call forward.

We are building Senior Helpers of San Francisco to be:

  • A trusted provider of senior home care in San Francisco
  • A supportive employer where caregivers feel trained and valued
  • A community partner focused on senior well-being and dementia awareness
  • A reliable resource for families navigating aging in place

When caregivers are well-supported, clients and families feel the difference immediately.

Rooted in Community

Although relatively new to San Francisco, our office is committed to becoming deeply involved in the Bay Area community — partnering with local healthcare providers, senior centers, and community organizations to strengthen support systems for older adults.

San Francisco is a city known for independence, resilience, and connection. Our mission is to help seniors continue living life on their terms — safely and confidently at home.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Whit Lippincott

Owner

Whit Lippincott is the owner of Senior Helpers of San Francisco, where he is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality in-home care that helps seniors remain independent and connected in the community they love.

Whit’s decision to open his Senior Helpers location was shaped by lifelong experiences with older family members and neighbors, and later, by witnessing firsthand the complexities of Alzheimer’s and memory care within his own family. Those experiences instilled in him a deep respect for the dignity of aging — and a clear understanding of how essential consistent, dependable support is for both seniors and their families.

Before launching Senior Helpers of San Francisco, Whit built his career in investment banking and project finance, where he focused on mission-driven sectors including environmental services and infrastructure. His professional background emphasizes accountability, systems, measurable outcomes, and long-term value creation — principles he now applies to building a care organization families can trust.

Whit is passionate about creating a team culture where caregivers are well-trained, supported, and proud of their work. He believes thoughtful care preserves independence rather than replaces it — and that small details make a meaningful difference in quality of life.

Outside of work, Whit enjoys golf, skiing, and exploring the Bay Area’s outdoor and cultural offerings.
