Meet the Meridian office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting. At Senior Helpers Boise Treasure Valley, we believe that getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated. 

We take in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. Over the years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Like every other owner, Nick Magnusson is fully committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers, and Senior Helpers of North Idaho became is a valuable resource for seniors and families in our its community. 

Making the decision to seek in-home care for a family member is never an easy decision. Sherryl and her team at Senior Helpers will walk you through the steps, explain your options, provide relief to you and your family, and provide excellent communication with the aim of meeting the changing needs of your loved one.

Senior Helpers of North Idaho is passionate about letting our senior community age in place with independence, grace, and dignity. We are committed to providing uncompromising levels of care to all clients and their families.

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Nicholas Magnusson

Nicholas Magnusson

Owner

Nicholas has been a Registered Nurse Since 2008 and was most recently a Director at UCSF before purchasing the company from the previous owner. He brings a passion for high quality care and decreasing hospital readmissions through extremely high quality standards for his staff and himself. Nicholas Has worked in both adult care and pediatric care in the hospital environment before starting a leadership role in 2014. He has worked in many different areas and through his training as a Registered Nurse brings a wealth of expertise and passion not seen in most homecare companies. 

Michelle Morgan

Michelle Morgan

Vice President of Operations

Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge in to Senior Helpers through her various experiences in Home Care. She studied Kinesiology and Gerontology at San Francisco State. She was inspired to work with the elderly by her experience at a young age providing support to her Grandfather who was bed ridden and her Great Aunt who suffered from Schizophrenia and Dementia. She worked for Hospice as well. She has worked for Senior Helpers for 7 plus years. She passes this experience in the form of training and ongoing support for all Senior Helpers staff and holding all to the high standards that Senior Helpers San Francisco and the Peninsula requires for our clients.

Abbey Palomo

Operations Manager

Abbey is a native Idahoan and has lived in the Meridian/Eagle area for most of her life. She has been helping to take care of the seniors in the Treasure Valley for over 15 years. Abbey comes to Senior Helpers with a wealth of senior care knowledge and experience. She is a mother to a beautiful daughter and loves her Ragdoll cats and crocheting. She enjoys spending time with her family at their farm in Eastern Idaho, paddleboarding and being outdoors and in nature.

Michelle Boyd

Client Services Manager

Michelle was born and raised in central California and moved here 2 years ago to be closer to her son. She has 3 sons, 5 grandchildren, quail, chickens, goats, cats, dogs and more to come. Michelle worked in the industry for a very long time as a Senior Analyst in Behavioral Health and wanted to continue to do something for people in need and has found Senior Helpers. She fell in love with helping our clients and has such passion and excitement for it.

Seena Ortega

Caregiver Manager

Seena was born and raised in the Bay Area, California (go 49er’s)! She moved to Idaho to be closer to family in early 2020. She is a mother of 3 beautiful daughters and 8 grandchildren. She enjoys travelling, Bingo and time spent with her family. Seena’s passion for helping others began over 30 years ago and she continues to serve our seniors in Idaho.

Coralee Walther

Coralee Walther

Community Relations Coordinator

Coralee grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She and her family have lived all over the West Coast with a couple of years spent out in Chicago. She has a passion for fitness, working as a personal trainer/instructor for over 15 years and still trains clients. Coralee and her husband love to snowboard in the Winter and go camping/backpacking in the Summer. They have two children in college and one son at home. She loves God, spending time with her family, friends and all things wine.

Barbara Buchanan

Barbara Buchanan

Office Administrator/Caregiver

Barb was born in the Midwest and has lived in Guam, California and moved to Idaho to be near her son and 6 grandchildren! She loves painting, reading and is an avid explorer. She loves spending time with her family camping and boating and enjoying the Idaho summers. She spent almost 30 years in banking but decided to make a big change and began to care for the elderly. Being of service is very important to Barb!

Rachel Miranda

Scheduling Manager

Rachel comes to Idaho from many different places.  She has 6 children and enjoys spending time with her family and supporting them in all of their activities.  Rachel loves camping, boating and spending time with her 5 grandbabies.  She comes to us with 6 years experience in home care and a great positive attitude.
