The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant.  This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Meet the Team

Lilian Kawa Monie

Owner

Lilian, who prefers to go by Kawa, is Doctor in Pharmacy and has had over a decade of experience in managing and helping patient’s needs. She is very passionate about her career and enjoys being a pharmacist. She strongly believes that “our health is our wealth’’, and takes pride in ensuring that her patients, especially the elderly understand how to take their medications as prescribed, the use and possible side effects.

Kawa was raised by her grandparents whom she affectionately refers to as Mami and Papa. They raised her to have values; such as a great work ethic, compassion, empathy and respect towards everyone especially the elderly. These character traits developed at a very young age; when Mami urged her not only to join the children’s church choir, but also to participate in church activities which allowed her to serve others.

As her grandparents got older, there became an increasing need for their personal care. She was unable to provide all the care they needed while maintaining a full-time career. Kawa had to juggle the responsibilities of her career as a pharmacist, while giving Mami and Papa the care they needed at home. She got to experience first-hand, the struggle so many families go through trying to keep mom and dad at home where they want to be, but not being able to personally care for them due to life’s hurdles and commitments. This was when she saw the value in having a good care giver. Kawa discovered her passion was not only in the health but also in the wellbeing of the elderly. In an effort to innovate and promote excellent home care, she was delighted to join Senior Helpers in caring for the elderly. Their mission is to bring you a sense of peace, knowing your loved one is being taken care of by friendly, trained, and compassionate care providers all in the comfort of your loved one’s home

Marsha Birney

Office Manager

Marsha Birney has worked in the Home Health field since 2003. Since a child Marsha has loved being around seniors. As a teenager she would visit rest homes in her hometown of Mason, Ohio (just outside Cincinnati) and sing with local church choirs.

Marsha moved to Dallas, Tx in 1986 to go to Christ For the Nations Inst., where she minored in music. Her passion for the elderly grew extensively when her dad became ill in Ohio in late 1988. While he was in the hospital Marsha became the caregiver of her mother who was ill at home. Her father passed away in the hospital just before Thanksgiving of 1988 and her mother followed her dad on New Year's Day 1989. During this difficult time Marsha became an advocate for the elderly and their families, desiring to help educate them and help them stay in their homes where they wanted to be.

After graduating from college and getting additional education in business administration, Marsha became an Associate Pastor for a local church and continued to reach out to the seniors. During the holidays she becomes “Mrs. Claus” as she sings her favorite Christmas songs and carols in the Senior Living Facilities in the Dallas area.

Marsha is passionate about making sure seniors are treated with dignity, honor and respect. She is a gifted communicator and motivator, with a sincere heart and a hug to give for the taking. So if you need help or have any questions, please call Marsha. She is here to help in any way she can. If she doesn’t have the answer, she will find someone who does.
