In 2006, Senior Helpers began serving the senior population in Spokane, Washington and Northern Idaho. Mark and Tiffany Murphy acquired the franchise on February 10, 2014. Mark was born and raised in Spokane and has been very active as a business and community leader for the last 25 years. Tiffany has been a Registered Nurse since 1988. She has a very strong medical-surgical and cardiac background, but her love of the elderly began while caring for in-patient oncology patients. She received her oncology certified nurse credential and worked as an oncology nurse clinician at a local home health agency specializing in pain and symptom management. Her home health experience, along with her passion for the elderly, has been a natural fit in acquiring a leading in-home care agency. It has allowed her to make a difference in the lives of her aging clients, ensuring that their needs and goals are met with compassion, respect, and professionalism. Together, with the strength of the Senior Helpers' business model coupled with Mark's business leadership and Tiffany's nursing expertise, this independently owned company has grown to become a trusted, professional in-home care agency with qualified, compassionate caregivers.
Senior Helpers' caregivers and support team have helped thousands of families deal with the challenges that come with aging and disease. Our team carefully designs an individualized care plan that will support and improve one's quality of life to ensure that specific needs and goals are met with utmost care. Senior Helpers provides a variety of services including Alzheimer's and dementia care, Parkinson's care, personal and companion care, "peace of mind” visits (one hour visits), surgery assistance, sitter services, 24 hour live-in care, VA community based services, senior care management and evaluation, and much more.
The relationships with our clients and their families are designed to be flexible and may be modified to meet the challenges and changing needs that our elder population may encounter. Our goal is to provide an exceptional client experience, whereby our clients remain safe in their preferred living environment with as much or as little dedicated one-on-one professional caregiver assistance for as long as requested. Effective communication and ongoing assessments are essential to quality care so our staff aims to keep you and your family informed at all times.
Our trusted caregivers are held to high standards. They are thoroughly screened, fingerprinted, and trained. We provide free ongoing continuing education to ensure that our caregivers are knowledgeable in the best practices of caregiving and related issues. Because we are a Senior Gems certified office, we provide specialized training in Alzheimer's and dementia care and all of our caregivers and office staff begin training at orientation. Please refer to our Services menu for more information on Alzheimer's and Dementia Care.
Please contact us or fill out the "Request a Call Back” on our home page to learn more about our services and/or schedule a complimentary home care consultation. Our team is ready to provide care and comfort at a moment's notice.
