If you’re interested in becoming a caregiver and trying to decide who to work for, then look no further. We want you to know exactly what we’re looking for at Senior Helpers, and how our process works for becoming a full-time professional caregiver. When our clients welcome a Senior Helpers’ caregiver into their homes, they are trusting them with an extremely important task, and we want our caregivers to be fully aware of and prepared for the responsibility. If you’re wondering how to become a caregiver with us, you should primarily be compassionate, professional, and seriously invested in the well-being of your patients. We also ensure that they are fully trained and prepared to handle any situation that may surface.

Before hiring new caregivers, we ensure that they are caring, kind, dependable and personable individuals who are genuinely passionate about providing in-home care to the elderly. Before looking into how to become a caregiver, ask yourself: do I really want to make a difference in the lives of families and become a resource for senior care in my community? If senior care is not only a job for you, but also a lifestyle that excites and motivates you every day, becoming a caregiver with us might be for you.

Training

We don’t want any caregivers to join our team until they’ve been thoroughly screened, and fully credentialed, which will help us to take the time needed to vet potential caregivers. Caregivers must have all national and licensing requirements before joining us. We also encourage them to participate in the Senior Helpers University program in order to further their education and receive credits toward their Senior Helpers Certification. Training will also be provided in the Senior Gems program. This program covers the creation of specialized treatment plans for clients with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Whether you’re a new hire or you’ve been with us for years, we always encourage our caregivers to keep educating themselves, so they can continue creating exceptional customer experiences.

Preparedness

Individualization is important. Our caregivers recognize that no two clients are the same and are highly trained to offer a diverse selection of services.

Concierge Care

Senior home care doesn’t have to be confined to just your home. We also aid clients in senior living communities, including the move-in process, wait list support, and post-medical care.

Alzheimer’s or Dementia Care

For our Alzheimer’s and Dementia clients, caregivers are given extensive training on how to create customized home care plans. We carefully monitor these clients’ daily activities, and focus on creating a safe, positive and comfortable environment.

Companion Care

Our Companion Care services are lauded for their flexibility and ability to adapt to clients’ specific needs. Whether it’s a brief hour-long visit or 24/7 care, our caregivers are prepared to accommodate a wide range of needs.
