Celebrating Healthy Vision Month

Did you know that May is Healthy Vision Month?

We often discuss the importance of dieting, exercise, and regular consultations with your physician, but more often than not we forget about our eyes. While eyes aren't always top of mind, they are of top importance…we use them every single day, after all!

The National Eye Institute (NEI) put together a list of the steps we should all take in order to keep our vision as healthy as possible. Here are a few of the tips:

  1. Get regular comprehensive dilated eye exams so your eye care professional can examine your retina and look for signs of damage.
  2. Maintain a healthy diet including plenty of of green vegetables and carrots.
  3. Know your family eye health history to determine if eye disease could be in your genes.
