Meet the Dayton Office

More than 90% of seniors want to age in their own home with dignity but getting the right type of care can seem daunting. At Senior Helpers Dayton we believe getting the best care for your loved ones should not be complicated and are committed to delivering the best possible in-home care to seniors in the Dayton community.

We take in-home care seriously and make it a priority to provide the highest level of client service possible. Over the past 11 years we have built an exceptional team of care professionals, each committed to remaining at the forefront of the in-home care industry through our proprietary ongoing training and education programs.

Our History

Our History

Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.

The first office opened in Baltimore and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.

Senior Helpers Dayton was proud to join the system in 2009. Like every other owner, we too are fully committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.

Our team has grown to 7 team members and 70 caregivers. We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.

Our process

Our process

The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, review our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.

We will cover:

  • Your family's specific goals
  • Your loved one's daily plan design and schedule
  • Pricing and payment methods
  •  Implementation process
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up plan

Meet the Dayton Team

John Koflowitch

John Koflowitch

Owner

I grew up in Huber Heights, OH. After high school, I left the Dayton area to attend The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Accounting. About 3 years ago, I began thinking about becoming a business owner. At this time, I was also dealing with the care of my mom who has dementia which helped drive me to home care. I am a huge OSU football fan and enjoy going to the games. I also enjoy watching my kids play sports and racing motorcycles.

Brittney Pipke

Client Services Manager

Brittney is a Wright State University graduate with a Bachelors in Human Services. She has been in the Homecare Field for 10 years, working with seniors, seniors with Alzheimer/Dementia, and Persons with Disabilities. In her free time Brittney enjoys being a mom to her son, family time, and playing rec sand volleyball. She has always been passionate about helping people and she fully believes in Senior Helpers mission.

Michelle Tobias

Caregiver/ HR Manager

Michelle has worked at Senior Helpers of Dayton since April of 2020 first as a Client Services Manager and now as a Caregiver/HR Manager. Michelle has her Masters degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Michelle understands the importance of a senior family member maintaining dignity by staying in the home as long as they can. She lived with her grandparent for a brief time in high school helping them do daily tasks around the house to make life a little easier for her grandparents. She has great memories of her grandparents. Her goal at Senior Helpers of Dayton is to provide the best possible in-home elderly care treating each person as if they were her family member.

Celine Sao

Office Runner

Celine began her career with Senior Helpers as a caregiver August 2019. In her current role as Office Runner, Celine helps train new caregivers and ensures the standard expected all of our caregivers is maintained. Celine also helps with numerous back office functions including recruiting and scheduling. Celine’s background started in assisted living facilities but she always felt that there was more comfort when clients were in their own homes so she made the transition to home care and hasn’t looked back. Celine believes that working with Senior Helpers has given her a chance to find her true calling: assisting seniors in the comfort of their own space.

Alexis Reed

Scheduler

I joined Senior Helpers to have a career that makes a difference in other people’s lives. Before working internally, I worked in the field as a caregiver developing strong bonds with my clients. I had taken care of my grandmother after she became ill while I was still very young and continued to do so until the last few years of her life. Doing so gave me a priceless sense of peace of mind knowing she was well cared for, but also a generous feeling of purpose for myself. Alongside that, after I had my son, I realized how much I truly enjoyed being responsible for the well being of others. I have seen how many agencies and facilities who were there to provide care for the elderly treat their clients and it broke me, I knew that there was a need for change. I have become so passionate in this field of care, it became obvious to me that I could be the change I wished to see in the world. I love working for Senior Helpers and care deeply for each and every one of our clients. Our team is truly one of a kind!

Caregivers are attentive, patient and so compassionate."
