We’ve been talking about preventing Heart Disease for the past month. Knowing the necessary steps to preventing heart disease is key to maintaining a healthy heart, but knowing the early signs and symptoms of heart disease can save a life.
Coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and heart attacks (each type of heart disease) all require different treatment but may share similar warning signs. Recognizing these warning signs and being able to get medical treatment can be the difference between life and death.
The most common symptom of heart disease is chest pain. Some have described the pain as heaviness, pressure, tightening, aching or a squeezing feeling. This feeling is often mistaken as heartburn, and can also be felt in the shoulders, jaw, throat, and back. Some other symptoms include:
