Is it just us, or is fall the best time to spend outdoors? The weather is cool, the leaves are beautiful, and the air is crisp. There’s nothing better!
Fall is also the perfect time to get your elderly loved ones to spend time in the great outdoors and enjoy some fresh air and activity.
Take a look at a few of these outdoor fun fall plans that are perfect for any senior:
Pumpkin Picking – Plan a trip to your local pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin for you and your aging loved one. Ask them where they found pumpkins when they were younger and what their favorite pumpkin carvings are!
Fall Festivals – Many communities are hosting Fall Festivals this time of year with crafts, food trucks, games, costume contests, and more! Check out your local community centers or newspapers to find a festival near you. Your aging loved one will love spending time in the community and socializing.
Take a Walk – This may sound like a simple activity, and it is, but head over to your neighborhood park and walk around with your loved one. Enjoy the beautiful changing leaves and maybe even take a few photos! Walking is a great form of low-impact exercise for your loved one and you will both enjoy the time together!
Be sure to take advantage of the lovely fall weather before it’s too late!
