About Our Local Office

Welcome to Senior Helpers, one of the area’s premier home care companies. We strive to do one thing—and to do it well—take great care of seniors.

In 2007, Tricia and Wayne Sarrow established Senior Helpers of Madison, NJ.Both of them have personal experience caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s disease and truly understand the plight of families dealing with this or another dementia. As the need for quality home care has grown, the Sarrow’s expanded operations into Montclair and surrounding Essex County area.“We want families to have the help they need when they need it.”We have helped hundreds of families in need of assistance and enabled seniors to age in place in their own home.

Senior Helpers is setting the industry standard for home care and leading the way for providing dementia care with a positive approach. The Senior Gems® is a groundbreaking program used to train our caregivers to focus on the remaining abilities of a dementia client. Dementia care is our area of expertise—a specialty service provided at no additional cost.

If you or a loved one needs our services, the first step is to contact us and we’ll walk you through the process of beginning care.We provide assistance hourly or on a live-in basis. All of our caregivers have experience, they drive, and they’re compassionate about what they do.We are a licensed, bonded, and insured home care company.Give us a call today.

Art Therapy

Sometimes when we lose one sense, we gain another. As a person living with dementia loses an ability, sometimes an unknown ability may surface. When aphasia (the ability to speak and understand the spoken word) progresses, some dementia patients find it therapeutic to express themselves in other ways. The following art pieces were painted using water colors by individuals living with a form of dementia during an art therapy session with an accredited art therapist.Below each artwork is the artist’s response when asked to name or describe their art.
