Making Dreams Come True- A Story from Seth Zamek, Rock Hill, SC

Our client, Mr. Simpson, who we care for each morning and evening, lives alone, is in his nineties and is a veteran of WWII. Ever since we've been assisting him, he's wanted to go to "the casino." He said he "loves playing the slots and is darn good at them." This past week my Caregiver Manager, Paul Harper, took Mr. Simpson up to Cherokee, NC for an overnight trip to the casino. Paul arranged for a scooter and Mr. Simpson was buzzing from one slot machine to another. They shared a room together and Paul made sure Mr. Simpson got to bed and up in the morning safely. Mr. Simpson had a great time and of course, is still talking about it!

Dear Seth,

My parents live at SCCL. My father reached out to your company to assist him with my mother. That's when Gladys came into their lives. Gladys is an angel! She's calm, considerate and very astute to my mother's needs. She has learned my parent's routines and goes beyond their expectations. When Gladys is there my father knows he can run chores knowing my mother is in great hands! If there is any way you can recognize her for her extraordinary care and compassion it would be greatly appreciated. My three other sisters and brother are thankful for Gladys' devotion to my parents.

“Delores was wonderful today, she will be my "go to girl" from now on, I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

I wanted to let you know how pleased I was to have the services of Shirley these past two weeks. She certainly was excellent in all respects. She was always on time and set to go, a delightful person and so thoughtful. Not only did she prepare lunch and dinner, and serve the meals so delightfully but along with it she cleaned the whole house, vacuumed the carpets, did the bathrooms and laundry, dusted the furniture, and got the kitchen spotless.

I appreciate your earlier calls and visits to set the whole thing up so well and thoroughly. It made a difference in having that peace of mind that after I got back home again, there would be some assistance on hand. I am feeling just fine these days, and except for tiring a little more than usual, I'm out and around and doing things. I am driving and doing my usual (although somewhat easier) workout routine and feeling better all the time. Thanks so much for all your help.

Following our chat this week, I wanted to write and once again thank you and all the Senior Helpers Ft. Mill team for your wonderful support during the latest transition for Mike and Eleanor. At ages 88 and 93, they have collectively run the gamut of senior care – including multiple hospitalizations, rehab, independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. Your help has made each step easier, particularly since we were able to direct many of these transitions from our own home hundreds of miles away.
Your in-home assistance, transportation services, peace-of-mind checks, and overall logistics were invaluable – as was your own deep personal knowledge of senior care resources in the area. We are hopeful that the latest move to shared assisted living will keep both Mike and Eleanor settled for awhile, but we certainly will not hesitate to call on Senior Helpers should this change.
Once again, many thanks and congratulations to your caring team for a great job!

I cannot imagine how difficult the last few months of my father's life would have been for him or my family if it were not for the incredible care we received from Senior Helpers of Fort Mill, SC. I realize Senior Helpers is a business and provides a service but you gave my family a sense of comfort and the ability to spend our time being with and loving Dad.

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful service that you supply for families needing help for their aging parents. Alzheimers can be a very frustrating disease to deal with but Loretta and Margo were never challenged by that. They became our family. I could go on and on but I just wanted to make sure you knew how valuable Senior Helpers was to my sister and I in our time of need.

Dear Seth,

A sincere and heartfelt thanks to you, Latoya Campbell and all of the Senior Helpers team members for the attention and care provided to my father, Bob Dickerson. Although we utilized your services for only a few weeks before he passed, our experience with Senior Helpers was excellent, from the in-home consultation to the visits from Latoya and the check in calls from your staff.

We took great comfort in knowing that my father was being cared for and that basic household chores were handled. Latoya's sincere care and concern was evident the day we met her and my father liked her immediately. Her willingness to do it all, along with her positive attitude and loving heart were exactly what we needed.

Seth, thank you (and all of your staff) for responding promptly to my phone calls, in addition to the calls of condolence. You all helped ease the challenges of this otherwise difficult time for my family.
