Senior Helpers was excited to present a check to the Alzheimer's Association from the net proceeds of the Teepa Snow Seminars recently held in Erie PA. Between the two seminars, we had over 500 people in attendance. When you include the $1000 check donated earlier, the total net proceeds from the Teepa Snow Event was $3,616.18. Pictured from Left to right is Amy Schleicher & Patty Hoffman(Senior Helpers), Jill Curtis & Sara Giammarise (Alzheimer's Association) and Tony Viglione (Senior Helpers). Corporate Sponsors for this event were First National Bank, Burton Funeral Homes & Crematory and MacDonald, Illig, Jones & Britton.
Our educational workshops with Teepa Snow were held Thursday October 6th in Erie PA.
We hosted a 3-hour presentation in the morning which targeted healthcare professions and 3 CEU’s were pre-approved for nurses and social workers. The morning session was attended by over 200 people with 52 attendees taking advantage of the CEU’s. The afternoon session featured a 2-hour workshop and was open to the general public. The afternoon session found Teepa speaking to around 300 people.
It was a fun and informative day that was well received by all those who attended. We even opened the doors one-hour prior to each presentation so people could obtain additional information regarding health and aging. We ended up with 3 Corporate Sponsors and 18 Vendor Table Sponsors for a total of 21 information “tables”. The feedback from the vendors were very positive as well, saying the that people who stopped by their tables were “qualified” prospects who asked questions, engaged in conversation and were interested in the products and services more than the promotional giveaways! We added refreshments and snacks as well which everyone seemed to enjoy. Teepa’s informative content coupled with her entertaining presentation style was a hit! Many people asked when we were bringing her back again. All net proceeds from the event are being donated to the local Alzheimer’s Association. Although the final analysis has not been completed, we are projecting a donation of around two-thousand dollars. Thanks to Teepa, our Corporate Sponsors, Vendor Sponsors, Senior Helpers Staff and Planning Committee for a successful event that had people buzzing for the next few days. The event garnered some nice TV publicity which was great exposure for Senior Helpers!
