Meet the Fairfield Team
I am the co-owner and president of daily operations at Senior Helpers of Fairfield, CT. I am a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics, while also playing on the Division I Women’s Soccer team. Following graduation, I worked for 11 years in Operations at Morgan Stanley as a global risk manager. I took a few years out of the work force to spend time at home with my 4 children. After a very fulfilling few years, I realized I wanted to work in a field that would blend my experience within operations and as a caregiver. This business is truly personal to us, as both my husband and I watch our own parents grow older and struggle with maintaining their independence and enjoying their senior years. We are passionate about this business and are dedicated to improving and enriching the quality of life for every client who entrusts us with their care. We consider our caregivers to be part of our Senior Helpers family, and we hope you will too!
I am the co-owner and strategic business director at Senior Helpers of Fairfield, CT. I started my career working in London within the financial sector, before moving to the US in late 2001. I have worked within a number of different departments in the global financial markets, both managing large global teams and working on strategic business initiatives. My family is immensely important to me and when not working, I love to coach my daughters’ soccer teams and work in the garden with my twin boys. We are passionate about making a difference in the lives of families who truly need our support in the greater Fairfield community.
Senior Helpers provided excellent live-in home care for my aunt. I appreciated the kind, compassionate and reliable caregivers provided by this agency. They consistently did their job very well. The owner and president of Senior Helpers in Fairfield, Katie Vanovitch, supervised the caregivers. She made periodic visits to my aunt’s home to verify that the live-in situation was going well for both caregivers and client. The help provided by Senior Helpers, a most professional and caring agency, allowed my aunt to stay in her home in a safe and caring environment which was reassuring to me. I highly recommend Senior Helpers for home care services.
Senior Helpers was founded in 2002 by Tony Bonacuse with the help of Peter Ross after their firsthand experience in caring for their respective family members. Tony and Peter identified a need that was not being filled properly by the other companies. They realized that most seniors would prefer to age in their own home rather than move into an unfamiliar institution. Unfortunately, the options available to most seniors were very limited. Most seniors did not have access to well-trained, dependable and affordable in-home care. This was the mission-driven spark that started Senior Helpers.
The first office opened in Baltimore, and quickly developed a reputation for delivering excellent in-home senior care with their well-trained staff of professional caregivers. Based on the success of the Baltimore location, the company began to expand. Over the past 13 years, the Senior Helpers family has grown to include a network of more than 300 locally owned and operated franchises across the United States.
Senior Helpers of Fairfield was proud to join the system in 2017. Like every other owner, we too are fully-committed to the original goal of providing dependable and affordable in-home care with well-trained caregivers. Nothing is more important to us than being the best available resource for seniors and families in our community.
Owner Katie Vanovitch was drawn to Senior Helpers because of our signature programs, which go above and beyond to provide a higher level of care for our clients.
Our team has grown to 4 team members, and 60 caregivers. We have been lucky to serve hundreds of seniors in our community over the years, and we are committed to continuing to provide uncompromising levels of care to all our families.
The first step in the process is a complimentary, initial in-home care assessment with a Senior Helpers consultant. This assessment can help you understand the true needs of your loved one, and your options. Together we can discuss their needs, our senior care services and determine what’s best for your entire family.
