Senior Helpers Provides in-home Senior Care in Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Clayton, Danville, San Ramon and Piedmont

I acquired Senior Helpers in 2017.  After spending a year as the care provider for my wife while she suffered through a difficult illness and caring for my elderly parents I came to understand the challenges family members have balancing their daily lives with caring for ill or elderly family members. Senior Helpers allows me to run a rewarding business that helps people in these difficult situations and improves the lives of both our clients and their families.  Let us help you provide compassionate care for your loved ones while carrying on with your daily lives.

I spent many years as a Certified Public Accountant with one of the largest accounting firms in the world.  I went on to pursue a career as an executive in the insurance industry serving as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.  I recently relocated back to California to fulfill his desire to own his own business.  I purchased the Senior Helpers franchises providing senior in-home care to clients throughout the San Francisco East Bay area.

Meet our Office Staff:

Sandra Enloe - Client Service Manager

Sandra started working for Senior Helpers in the Spring of 2018. She is responsible for assessments of new clients. She follows up with clients to ensure that we are providing excellent care. She is also responsible for employee recruitment, billing, and liaison with long term care insurance.

She came to Senior Helpers from another home care agency where she was employed as the Administrative Care Director. Before that she worked for over 30 years as Operations Manager for a company based in Fremont, CA. She has also volunteered at the local VA hospital where she was the scheduler for follow up doctor’s appointments.

Why I chose Senior Helpers: “I like to make a difference in people’s lives and serving our clients at Senior Helpers.”

Raymund De Luna - Community Relations Coordinator

Raymund started with Senior Helpers in November 2017. He is responsible for sales and developing business through community referral sources. Raymund serves as a link between the company and the health care community.

Raymund has 14 years’ experience in sales and marketing for pharmaceutical companies.

Why I chose Senior Helpers – “Working with Senior Helpers gives me a fresh outlook of how all of us will be in the future. The company gives me a good understanding of things to be prepared for and things to be accomplished for the future.”

Bernice Almazan - Scheduler

Bernice started with Senior Helpers in May of 2018. She is responsible for making sure our clients are matched with a caregiver that fits with the client’s needs.

Why I chose Senior Helpers – I have been in the medical industry for over 10 years as a scheduler. I enjoy helping others and have a great compassion for the Elderly. I also cared for my grandmother and I know the struggle of not always being able to be there as I too had a job and family of my own. So, it brings me great joy to be able to provide caregivers for your loved ones, making sure the clients and their families are matched with the best caregiver for them.

Jonalinn Kane – Office Administration & Caregiver

Jonalinn started working for Senior Helpers in 2016. She is responsible for new hire paperwork and tracking caregiver training. She also works as a caregiver.

She worked in the travel industry in Hawaii before coming to California in 2005 and in the medical field since 2002. She became a CNA/HHA in 2006.  She has also done private care and assisted with sisters in her church.

Why I chose Senior Helpers - I became a caregiver because of my past experience and training. I’ve been caring and assisting family members and friends my whole life. My training goes hand in hand with being a caregiver. I’ve enjoyed being able to help those in need, and that brings great joy and fulfillment to me.

Senior or Elder Care

Caring for an elderly family member while maintaining your daily life can be difficult at best.  Senior Helpers can provide in-home senior care from just few hours a day to 24 hours per day, seven days a week to allow you to tend to your other personal and family responsibilities.

Senior care can be as simple as providing companionship, meal preparation and light housekeeping or as complete as personal care (ambulation, dressing and bathing assistance, and incontinence care).  Need a ride to the doctor?  We can also provide transportation. Our aide will stay with your loved one and return them safely home afterwards.  We take the worry out of caring for your loved one.

We specialize in providing professional home care aides to come into the home of our clients and assist them with maintaining their independence.  Our companion care can help with activities like light housekeeping, laundry, meal planning and preparation, as well as running errands.  We also provide personal care such as bathing and dressing, incontinence care, and ambulation assistance.

All of our home care aids are employees of our company and are fully insured and bonded. We don’t use independent contractors and our caregivers go through our interviewing and screening process. All of our home care aids have personal and employment reference checks as well as an extensive criminal background checks through the Department of Justice.

We are non-contractual so you can stop services at any time. The rate we charge varies based on the type of care that is needed and schedule provided.

Alzheimer's or Dementia

Senior Helpers has partnered with Teepa Snow, one of America’s leading educators on dementia. Teepa’s philosophy is reflective of her education, work experience, available medical research, and first-hand caregiving interactions. Working as a Registered Occupational Therapist for over 30 years her wealth of experience has led her to develop Positive Approach® to Care techniques and training models that now are used by families and professionals working or living with dementia or other brain changes throughout the world.  The Senior Gems® created by Senior Helpers®, is based on the Gems™, techniques, strategies, and overall approach to care which was created and developed by Teepa Snow, Positive Approach, LLC. It is a method for identifying the characteristics of aging, from normal aging through the early and late-stage dementia which many seniors are now facing. Senior Gems® focuses on what is precious and unique about each senior, and although changes take place as the disease progresses, Senior Helpers focuses on what these seniors can do with what they still have available to continue to live a purposeful life at home. It’s all about focusing on taking a positive approach and using strategies that will work.

Rich Campagna with Teepa Snow

Caring for a family member with dementia or Alzheimer's can be difficult and demanding.  Lack of adequate care can result in injury or worse when Alzheimer’s patients are not properly supervised.  Senior Helpers will make available free copies of The Senior Gems, a 35-minute DVD featuring dementia and Alzheimer's expert Teepa Snow.  You can also download the video by clicking on the following link.

The 35-minute video guides care givers through the different stages of dementia and includes useful tips and techniques for helping loved ones with the syndrome. Teepa Snow is recognized worldwide for her innovative approach to dementia and Alzheimer's, focusing on what the patient can still do rather than the obvious limitations and memory-related issues.  Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia.

Among the facts that are worth noting…

  • Every 68 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer's, the most common form of dementia.
  • 1 in 9 older Americans have Alzheimer’s.
  • The number of people with Alzheimer’s is expected to quadruple to as many as 16 million by 2050.

Over 10.9 million Americans are currently serving as unpaid caregivers for Alzheimer’s patients.
