Diane Popenhagen serves as Agency Director here at Senior Helpers. Ms. Popenhagen has been in the home care industry in Denver since moving here from Missouri.
With a graduate degree in English, Diane strives to build strong avenues of communication with clients, caregivers and referral sources. Empathy and compassion are her managerial tools of choice, as Ms. Popenhagen oversees the day-to-day operations of this amazing team of professionals.
When Diane isn’t at work, she’s a published writer and is trying to learn Japanese. Ms. Popenhagen has three kids (20, 14, and 13) who also keep me quite busy. Outside of that, she stays home with her cats and crochets hats. Sometimes she even crochets hats FOR her cats. So basically, she’s a party animal!
Jeana, a Utah native, comes to Senior Helpers with loads of experience in scheduling and office management. She is the spunky voice you will hear on the other side of the phone when answering any, and all, schedule-related questions. When Jeana is not in the office tackling all of our schedules, she loves to go hunting, fishing and enjoys the great outdoors with her 7-year-old son. We are forever grateful to have her on our team!
Lorena, a Colorado native, comes to Senior Helpers with a background in medicine as a Pharmaceutical Technician. Her passion for helping her community and making a difference brings clients and caregivers a warm welcome when contacting our office. Lorena is the first person most clients and caregivers meet. Apart from being the face of Senior Helpers, Lorena also oversees insurance claims, the telephony time-tracking software, and eagerly fills in for shifts when caregivers cannot.
When she is not in the office, she is enjoying all that Colorado has to offer with her fiancé and puppy dog, Layla; such as urban farming, hiking, and visiting lots of local food trucks!
When the chaos of our daily lives becomes a consistent reality to those we love, it is not uncommon for our lives to unravel. My greatest passion is to bring comfort to those in need. Whether you are the client or your loved one is in need of some extended care, I make your comfort my priority. I help clients and families alike find healthy perceptions of their daily lives. I know that there is no single approach, and everyone’s needs vary, so care is always customized accordingly.
Having a household of 5 plus a fur-baby, I genuinely care! I have a wonderful fiancé who supports me, along with our three kids. I teach my children each day that this world is not just about us; but rather the impact we can make upon others. I want to leave a legacy of greatness that my family will be proud of and carry on.
I have a degree in Healthcare Administration and am a Medical Assistant. So, I understand medical aspects along with the paperwork side; however, more importantly I understand that my clients are more than just a piece of paper with a name on it, but an actual person.
It will be my pleasure, with a grateful heart, to meet you~
Although I currently live in Thornton, Colorado but I am originally from Wheat Ridge. I’ve been working in Home Care for the past four years. What I enjoy most about working at Senior Helpers is the difference I make on a daily basis. I enjoy matching up the right caregiver to the right clients. Meeting new people every week is an experience all in itself. Sometimes the work we do can be heartbreaking or tiresome or down right crazy. However, most of the time it is rewarding and a privilege to give back. In my spare time, I love games, going to the lake, and attending concerts and plays. I love to throw parties, and adore unicorns and anything with glitter!!
Senior Helpers has taken a bold step by telling the world that age does not erase hopes and dreams. And by implementing the Virtual Dementia Tour companywide, Senior Helpers has further demonstrated its commitment to those it serves. Senior Helpers is proud to support Second Wind Dreams® on this mission by encouraging donations, raising awareness, and sensitizing the world to dementia as a corporate partner.
What is the Virtual Dementia Tour?
Learning to create a positive environment for those with dementia can only come from attempting to walk in their shoes. Created by P.K. Beville, a specialist in geriatrics, this valuable, easy to follow experiential tour is designed to instill hope in professional and family caregivers, providing them with a tool to move from sympathy to empathy and better understand the behaviors and needs of their loved ones and patients.
