"Keeping the mind active, that is the key."

Activities that give your senior a "workout for their brain" can help in many ways. Here are a few suggestions:

Book Club – Pick out a book that you and your want to read. Once a week, spend some quality time discussing portions of the book.

Painting – Whether your senior is an accomplished artist or a total amateur, take them someplace nice, a park, buildings, nature, and let them paint or draw to their content. Make sure they sign it and date it for a life time memory.

Journals – Although sometimes private, journals can be a great way for a week, ask your senior to share something they feel comfortable sharing and discuss it. Ask questions, what a great way to understand your senior and get to know them at the same time.
