April is Parkinson's Awareness Month!
This month I want to give you some key points and facts about Parkinson’s.
First of all, Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disorder. According to the Parkinson’s Foundation, around 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with PD (Parkinson’s Disease) each year.
Risks include but are not limited to age- risk increases as you age; family history; male sex; exposure to herbicides and pesticides.
Parkinson.org states that signs and symptoms can include slowness (bradykinesia), stiffness (rigidity), tremor and imbalance (postural instability).
