Meet Wendy

Wendy and Todd Johnson own Senior Helpers of Silver Spring which opened in the Fall of 2007. Prior to Senior Helpers, Wendy spent over a dozen years as a HR manager for Corporate America. Wendy decided to leave the corporate world in order to give back to the community, to be the type of employer she wanted to work for and to start a family. Wendy often tells people, Senior Helpers is her calling.

Besides being a small business owner, the Johnson family is busy in their local church and community. Wendy and Todd married in 2006, after meeting while serving on the Mid-County Recreational Advisory Board. Wendy is also on the board of a 5 Star Summer Camp and is the team manager for Forcey Christian School’s Destination Imagination team. The Johnson’s also live in Silver Spring. They are the proud parents of identical twins, Jacqueline and Camille and have been known to take the girls to visit local assisted living facilities. The Johnson’s also have an English Mastiff named Hollywood; a St. Bernard named Benny (who is in training to become a therapy dog); and a cat, Freda.

Wendy has been a sought after speaker to talk with Social Workers as well as general audiences. She has a M.S. degree in Psychology; is a certified Mediator, a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Speaker’s Bureau, and is a Long Term Care Claims Professionals (LTCCP). The Johnson’s are active in the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce. Wendy is an advocate of hospice services and after the loss of her infant son she became involved with a local charity called Isaiah’s Promise and published a grief book for children. Wendy’s management of Senior Helpers has earned many compliments from Senior Helpers’ clients and family:
