Shannon Loranger - is our Director of Operations. Her job is to make sure Senior Helpers delivers on our mission statement - To take care of our clients by providing high quality service. She meets with new clients to develop a personalized care plan, and then she oversees their care for the duration of their time with Senior Helpers.
You'll also find her out in the community connecting with other organizations who strive to improve the quality of life of our seniors. Her favorite part of the job is getting to meet so many wonderful seniors in our community and working with our amazing clients, Home Care Aides, and office team. In her 4 years with the company, Shannon has had the opportunity to connect with many inspiring individuals.
Shannon graduated from UCSB with a bachelor degree in Business Economics and Psychology. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, and exercising.
Liah Ramirez- is our Client Service Manager. In her position, Liah evaluates and assesses the clients and their needs. She might be the first person many people talk to as they inquire about our services. She oversees and follows-up on the quality of care our clients are receiving, making sure our home care aides are committed to our client’s safety and wellbeing.
Liah’s favorite part of the job is making our clients happy by providing excellent customer service and giving family members peace of mind.
Before arriving to Senior Helpers in April 2015, Liah worked for a senior insurance group that specializes in Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplement plans. With her background, she is able to give our clients excellent service.
Outside of work, Liah enjoys quality time with family and friends. Before moving to Santa Barbara, Liah lived in Orange County. Her dedication to serving seniors is a key element to our Senior Helpers staff.
Melissa Haines, is our Scheduling Coordinator. Melissa is responsible for managing our Home Care Aide’s schedules to fulfill our Client’s needs.
Melissa has over 10 years of Customer Service experience, and enjoys serving and working with people. She just moved to Santa Barbara last summer with her husband, and is enjoying getting to know the Santa Barbara area. In the past, Melissa did volunteer work with seniors as an Activity Coordinator, and loved every minute of it. She found it very rewarding and encouraging helping them stay active, and up to date with news and events. Melissa also worked with adults and kids with disabilities for 4 years, which she truly treasured every minute of.
In her free time, Melissa likes spending time with her family and friends, and loves to work on her photography skills. Melissa and her husband are enjoying exploring the Santa Barbara area!
Leonor Breton is our Client-Service Coordinator. Leonor is responsible for our high level of client and caregiver satisfaction and is an integral part of our internal office operations.
Leonor is a student at Antioch University where she is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Leonor’s goal when she graduates is to continue working with our community in Santa Barbara relating to therapy services. In the past, Leonor has worked in many areas and Social Services settings have always been her favorite. She has an excellent Customer Service background from her years in the banking and medical fields and is excited to be a part of our Senior Helpers family.
In her free time when she is not studying, or working, Leonor’s favorite past time is reading, doing home projects, and spending time with her three children and husband.
Shirley Williams, is our Office Assistant. She has been with Senior Helpers for over 5 years. Before becoming a part of our office team she worked directly with clients as a caregiver. Shirley has worked with many different clients over the years, and all of them have been very special to her. She brings new insights to the office about being a caregiver and how we can better support them. She gives great advice to other caregivers about how to improve their skills in order to enhance their client’s personal experience with them.
Before working for Senior Helpers she helped run a local tea and holistic care shop in Montecito. She is currently studying Zoology at SBCC, and just finished the Chemistry program. She plans on being with Senior Helpers for a long time.
In her free time she enjoys hiking in the mountains around Santa Barbara and surfing at the beach.
Mike Fasth President - is a former Kinko's executive and founding partner who used to help college seniors print and bind great looking papers. During that part of his business career he was especially fond of helping senior adults in the very busy Kinko's stores.
After a career with Kinko's he attended Antioch University where he gained additional insights about the challenges of aging in the United States. Then, after attending Antioch he bought a local landmark bicycle store, Open Air Bicycles. There he saw many vibrant seniors in their 70s, 80s, and 90s riding bikes and staying active. That inspired him to open Senior Helpers of Santa Barbara in 2008 as he found that Senior Helpers had many of the same characteristics of Kinko's - most importantly a focus on the client.
As a Certified Senior Advisor he helps senior citizens continue to live at home, when they desire to do so. Always a step ahead of the competition, Mike keeps abreast of health breakthroughs and consumer trends that will benefit Senior Helpers clients and their families.
