If you would like to contribute to thanking a veteran, there is a unique service available which allows individuals to donate money for event tickets for veterans. It is a nonprofit organization called the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix). Donations made through their website www.vettix.org, go towards providing event tickets for Veterans and their families. This way, the Veteran can enjoy an experience of their choice, in time they have available, free of charge. Vet Tix says they provide this service because,
“Wounds of war, both mental and physical, can stay with our veterans the rest of their lives. Giving to our veterans and supporting the transitions back into their families and communities, is a gift of gratitude in which we all can take part.”
The events are nationwide and range from professional sports games to local fairs. This seems like a really nice way to contribute to the health of the Veterans in our country.
Here in San Luis Obispo County, local businesses are offering freebies for Veterans today and some deals even extend beyond Nov. 11th. Our senior veterans may appreciate telling stories of their past service over a cup of coffee or a meal, just being heard can be a great gift to someone who is struggling with the challenges of aging. If you know a veteran, why not brighten their day by taking them out to enjoy one of these deals today?
Get a free haircut. Veterans who visit Great Clips shops on Nov. 11, can either receive a free haircut — or a card for a free haircut to redeem by Dec. 31.
Free tall coffee at Starbuck’s for veterans and their spouses!
