Senior companion services, in-home visits, errands, incidental transportation, home care, and other assistance are available directly from your local Senior Helpers. Home care is term with various meanings, generally this is some medical help (with prescriptions, reminders for instance), incidental transportation particularly for trips to the doctor, running errands to the pharmacy and grocery store, helping with hygiene, assistance getting your senior around (ambulatory assistance, in and out of bed, bathing, whatever is needed), but it can also mean companionship for your senior, housekeeping help, dealing with correspondence, mail, bills, taking care of pets, food preparation and other light housekeeping tasks. Please review our Services Task List for a more in-depth list of services. If your senior is able to get around, but you want someone to check in with him/her and help out or remind him/her to take medications, then, we have the services you need.

Our professional caregiver services are varied from basic companionship to full time home care. Each care program is tailored the needs of your family, and your senior. One of the most important, non-medical services from Senior Helpers is companionship. Older adults staying at home frequently do not see many people, relatives are at work or a distance away, and visiting with friends may require additional or incidental transportation. So, to help your senior avoid being alone, consider as many hours a week or a day you want assistance. Senior Helpers is quite flexible and all of our care programs for senior monitoring are supervised by nurses.

Our basic companionship programs include bi-weekly nurse visits for ongoing assessments, mediation reminders, setting up medications for two weeks and also reporting to the primary care physician. Our caregiver companionship varies from "peace of mind" visits to check in on your relative as frequently as you need whether at home, in hospital, at a care facility or other locale. Our "sitter" visits are longer duration visits, frequently daily to take care of the needs of your senior daily, perhaps while you are at work, or to take them to visit friends, go for walks in the park, rent movies or go the theatre, read books, engage them in conversation, and run errands and do light housekeeping tasks and assisting him/her as necessary with hygiene issues, getting around the house, taking care of pets, or any other number of tasks, or we can just visit with your senior. We also have specialized visits and care for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Senior Helpers is as flexible as your schedule requires.
