Senior Companion Programs from Professional Caregivers

Senior companion programs and living assistance for older adults are available direct from your local Senior Helpers.  Our nurse-supervised companionship plans and home health care assistance programs help alleviate the burden on your family.  Adults that care for aging relatives frequently suffer from "caregiver burnout," stress while trying to deal with the day-to-day requirements of their own families, and worry about whether or not that care for an elderly parent or relative is inadequate.  Most people agree that seniors tend to live more productive and happy lives if they are able to stay in their homes with some assistance than being transferred into a 24 hour nursing care facility.   This is where Senior Helpers can provide beneficial programs for your family.  Our nurses will visit with your senior and family to provide a complimentary, initial medical needs assessment and interview, and determine the level of care and companionship that is needed.  We can provide short visits to check-in on your senior or provide 24 hour in-home assistance.

Our local, credentialed and trained caregivers can provide your senior with a variety services including:

  • Nursing visits - to monitor overall health, arrange medications for two weeks (review our MedServ Plan), provide the primary care physician with medical assessment reports and medication exception reporting
  • "Peace of mind" visits - checking in on your senior a few times a week or daily to see how your relative is doing, provide conversation and companionship
  • "Sitter" visits - longer term daily visits, up to 24 hours if needed, to provide companionship and take care of your relative
  • Errands - our professional caregivers will provide your senior with assistance for doctor visits, pick-up medications at pharmacies, take your senior to scheduled  medical appointments an exams, visit with them if they are in the hospital, take your senior to visit friends or for entertainment purposes, shop for groceries and run other errands that are needed on daily or weekly basis
  • Housekeeping - while our caregiver is providing your senior with companionship, we will also help out around the house including meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, watering plans, vacuuming, washing dishes, changing beds, general cleaning and all of those other daily tasks that your senior can no longer perform
  • Hygiene - our caregivers can also help with daily hygiene from bathing to dressing
  • Contacts - including calling to remind your senior about medications, checking in at scheduled times while you are working, helping out if you have to be out of town or for other reasons
