Senior Helpers

Welcome to the Senior Helpers North Houston team website, with our office located in North Houston. One of 300 Senior Helpers offices nationwide, our office serves virtually the entire North Harris county area, including but not limited to: Cypress, Jersey Village, Tomball, Champions, The Woodlands, Spring, Conroe, Humble and Kingwood.

Senior Helpers North Houston was opened in 2012 and is locally owned.

Our operating owner, Matt Sherman, is a Vietnam veteran, and wants to make sure the veterans we care for receive the respect and care they deserve – give them the thanks they have earned from their service to their country. Matt served six years active duty, then worked his way through his under graduate schooling as an EMT at a 500 bed hospital.  More than 30 years later, in 2012, he completed certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to refresh his caregiving skills.  Matt and his management team are passionate about delivering reliable quality care.

Since opening in 2012, Senior Helpers North Houston has been trusted as a solidly reliable partner to assist with senior and adult care needs. The safety of our clients is of primary concern to us. We provide security, comfort and professionalism to our clients and their families.

We pride ourselves on having the best and most compassionate caregivers in our area. We work hard to match up your loved one with the most appropriate caregiver(s). We have extensive training programs for our caregivers to prepare them for whatever circumstance they may find in the home. Our Alzheimer’s and Dementia training program is considered the best in the industry. Our Parkinson’s training is also second to none. However, we do not just train our staff. We also offer training to family caregivers and other family members of our clients. It’s important that you know what to expect as well.

Senior Helpers is well known for our work ethic, compassion and professionalism, which has helped us become the home care agency of choice for local senior communities and healthcare professionals. Having the highest standards in the industry is important to us, and has allowed us to be recognized as “Best of Home Care” by Home Care Pulse in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. We are proud of this achieving this recognition but it is the testimonials from families that are our true measure of success.

We invite you to call us at 281-919-1876 and we will answer your questions honestly and directly, without any pressure to move forward unless you so choose to do so.. After discussing your needs by phone, our owner and/or our Office Manager   (Kimberly) will come to your home and discuss your needs with the family. You can then make an informed determination of the best solution to meet your in home care needs.

Senior Gems® Alzheimer's & Dementia Training

Senior Helpers is a leader in the in-home care industry when it comes to Alzheimer's and dementia care with the program Senior Gems®. Developed by nationally renowned dementia expert Teepa Snow, the focus of Senior Gems® is on what people with dementia can do, instead of what they cannot do. Teepa's gems classification system (based on the Allen Cognitive Disability Theory) allows us to understand which stage of dementia the person is experiencing so the best service plan can be created for that individual.

Balancing Act® Parkinson's Training

Senior Helpers has developed a new Parkinson's Care program called Balancing Act®. In collaboration with staff at Johns Hopkins Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, Senior Helpers has designed a program that discusses symptoms of Parkinson's disease and offers strategies and techniques for managing Parkinson's. Senior Helpers has partnered with the Michael J. Fox Foundation to advance Parkinson's education.

Please call our office if interested in either GEMS or Parkinson's training. If you would like to bring one of these training programs to your organization or group, please call our office to set that up. We can tailor the program to the time and dates you have available. We look forward to hearing from you.
