Cooking can be overwhelming for busy caregivers, especially when you have to cook for yourself and your loved ones! While pre-planning meals is an ideal way to keep organized, it can be extremely overwhelming.

To help plan and prep healthy meals, the Senior Helpers team put together a few of their favorite tips for quick and easy (and healthy!) prep methods!

Tip #1: Plan before your shop. It is important to plan exactly what you need before you hit the grocery store so you avoid buying too much or too little. Purchasing the exact ingredients is the first step to keep you on track! You will also want to make sure you have proper containers!

Tip #2: Cook in groups. Once you have planned your meals and purchased your ingredients it is time to start prepping. Cooking in groups tends to make the process a little easier. For example, cook your meats, then your vegetables, and then your carbs. You can mix everything together after cooking.

Tip #3: Don’t be afraid to be adventurous! Meal prep is often associated with the same meal every day, but that doesn’t have to be the case! Feel free to get creative and mix in new snacks in your rotation.
