You’ve probably heard it a million times, “Put a coat on or you’ll catch a cold.” But did you know that cold weather does not cause colds?
It’s true! Studies from the Division of Infectious Disease at New York Hospital Queens show that colder weather has nothing to do with the common cold. So why do we always feel sick around winter? Well, that has more to do with what WE do when it gets cold out.
The colder it gets outside, the more time you spend inside with bigger crowds and recycled air making it easier for viruses to spread from person to person.
While we don’t recommend staying outside in freezing weather, we do have some tips and tricks to help you and your loved ones stayed protected against the common cold!
