The Senior Helpers family would like to wish you and yours a very happy and safe New Year! We hope that 2016 brings you great health and happiness!

This time of year is always the time for change. People make resolutions to improve their health, their savings, their lifestyles, or their relationships. While these are always wonderful resolutions, they typically require discipline and/or difficult changes.

We encourage everyone to make changes to better and improve their lives and lifestyles, but we also encourage happiness. That’s why we put together a list of small resolutions that are just fun for both you and your aging loved one!

Pamper Promise – Caregivers are known to put their loved ones before themselves. This year, schedule a pamper day or afternoon once a month where you can do something nice for yourself like a bubble bath or a long nap. After all – you deserve it!

Lasting Laughter – Sometimes during your busy schedule, you forget to take a step back and enjoy life. This year, try taking 5 minutes each day to think of, watch, or listen to something funny. Include your aging loved one so you can laugh together. Not only does laughter lighten your mood, but it can also improve your health.

Happy Hobby – Find a new hobby or enhance one that you already have. If you love to paint, make sure you paint at least once a week. Doing something that makes you happy will also brighten your attitude towards others.

A new year is about a fresh start. We hope you accomplish your New Year’s resolutions, but we also hope that you remember the happiness you and your aging loved one deserves.

We wish you all the best in 2016! Happy New Year!
