Next Tuesday is Veteran’s Day, a day to recognize and honor those who have served our country. It is nearly impossible to repay each veteran for the sacrifices they have selflessly made for us and our families, but we can start by volunteering to show our appreciation.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers multiple VA Voluntary Services to support our nation’s heroes. Here are just a few:

Welcome Home Events – The VA sponsors Welcome Home Events to help provide important information such as health care access and other benefits to returning soldiers and their families.

National Salute to Veteran Patients – This is a wonderful program dedication to pay tribute and express appreciation to Veterans by visiting hospitalized Veterans and increasing community awareness of the VA medical center. Click here for more information.

Volunteer Transportation Network – This program allows volunteers to provide transportation to veterans in need. To learn more click here.

There’s no better way to honor Veterans than to donate your time and show your appreciation. Click here to learn more about how Senior Helpers is helping Veterans.
