We all have such busy lives these days. It's hard enough spending time with our wives, husbands, and children let alone trying to find time to spend with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day to day routines, we forget just how important and entertaining spending time with family can actually be.
Planning family time is especially important for the seniors in your family. As our loved ones age, they get such joy from spending an afternoon with grandchildren, nieces and nephews. They love to share their old stories and hear what is going on in their children’s lives. There are so many nice ways to spend the day with family here in Monmouth and Middlesex counties. We have beautiful parks for picnics, beaches for relaxing, delicious restaurants for dining out and wonderful trails for taking a stroll. If your loved one would rather spend time closer to home, plan a barbeque while the weather is still nice. Gather the family and just celebrate being together.
If you are not sure where to go, try Thompson Park in Monroe or Thompson Park in Lincroft. Head to Pier Village in Long Branch for a nice stroll on the boardwalk or some delicious food at Serena or It's Greek to Me. Take a family walk on the trail at the Manasquan Reservoir. It's absolutely peaceful! Don't let you loved one's issues keep you from doing all these things. Sometimes mom or dad just needs a little bit of help to get out of the house. If they need more help than you are able to provide, Senior Helpers Home Care may be able to help. Call (732)866-4488 for information.
