Tips For Choosing A Home Care Agency

It seems like there must be a thousand Home Care providers today so who can you trust, what questions should you ask and how can you be sure about your choice? Perhaps the answers can be found in publically stated comments, certifications, standards and independent survey results.  We've prepared the following information, testimonials, certifications, and industry standards that we're certain will help you in your decision process and help get the care you want and need. Please take a moment to review some of the many heartfelt comments made by many of our wonderful customers (to us, they are family). TIP: Want to know what others have to say and how they rate any agency in your area? Just go to www.maps.google.com and type in the local agency telephone number (including hyphens), try ours 916-671-5777.

"Journey's management placing Cherie with my Mother has been a mini miracle. Cherie's personal care and interest in my Mother's happiness has exceed our expectation. This care allows Mother to stay in her home as she always wished. The added new technology of in home cameras has been another relief, giving us affordable around the clock observation without full time care givers." Kay DalBon.

Kay's comment compares favorably to the survey results reported by Home Care Pulse (HCP), an independent quality assurance company. Senior Helpers (Sacramento) according to HCP is among the top 5% of home care companies whose clients are systematically surveyed, evaluating client satisfaction in areas such as caregiver training, communication, overall quality of care, caregiver performance and responsiveness to problems ... to name a few of the 12 measures. TIP: Find out who has been consistently on the list year after year, www.homecarepulse.com

"Finding Senior Helpers has provided our family peace. My mom lives in her home alone and we live out of state. Our family was very concerned for mom's well-being. Senior Helpers has provided an exceptional level of service to our family and I would recommend working with this company to anyone looking for senior care." John Sheehan

Honoring our Veterans

The Sacramento region is home to more than 300,000 retired Veterans over the age of 65 and we have a duty to honor and support them. Senior Helpers organized a recent Veterans Recognition Day and provided the audience (our Veterans and their spouses) with valuable information about Aid and Attendance benefits that can help many obtain resources for tax free home care assistance.

One of the attendees at the Veterans Recognition Day is Viet Nam Veteran and client Leroy with his Caregiver Alona. The photo was taken the day Leroy was discharged from a VA hospital back home to be closer to his family and receive care from his trusted Senior Helpers Caregiver, Alona. If you are or know an older Veteran and qualify (or may) for VA benefits and want to start receiving the same care Leroy relies on, then please feel free to contact us for further assistance.

The Future of Home Care

Recently Terry Bollons met with celebrity Dr. Oz at a Health and Wellness event and discussed the growing challenge of the increasing number of aging Americans with the concurrent reduction of available Caregivers. What will happen to our senior population when they want to remain at home but there are not enough family members or private, trustworthy Caregivers to assist them? With constant reductions in Medicare Benefits and limited Long Term Care benefits, how can we keep seniors safe at home and concurrently help them reduce accidents, injuries and illness? Although Senior Helpers recently won the Best of Home Care Employer Choice Award and has an excellent track record in recruiting new, highly qualified, HCA licensed Caregivers, we're also have integrated technology and care simultaneously to reduce costs without sacrificing care.

Reducing Home Care costs with Remote Safety Monitoring

For more than a year, Senior Helpers has been testing innovative technologies and is pleased to announce our truly revolutionary Remote Safety Monitoring (RSM). RSM enables a new level of affordable care, few if any other Home Care Agency can provide. Senior Helpers is one of the only Home Care Agencies that can provide you with a unique combination of compassionate Caregivers as well as RSM that can reduce the costs of constant care. Why pay for a Caregiver to just sit around but be assured we can provide a Caregiver at a moment's notice during times of need. Finally there is a way to insure round the clock care without round the clock direct labor costs. There is no longer the need for a seldom used emergency pendant, nothing to wear and no buttons to push and the cost is affordable on almost any budget.
